Legacy S2: Dineo is visited by a blast from the past

As any fan of Legacy knows every week the show ends on a cliffhanger. Last week’s episodes left us wondering if Dineo will allow Msizi back into her house and her heart when he showed up unexpectedly at her new apartment. Armed with a rom-com-like apology and a plan to win Dineo back, Msizi tries his best to speak with her. However, Dineo shuts Msizi down. 

At the office Dineo ponder the situation with Msizi until Gordon interrupts her reflections. Dineo tells Gordon that she was just thinking about her past, leading Gordon to inform her that coincidentally he has a surprise from her past waiting in the conference room. When Dineo enters the room she sees Msizi addressing members of the Legacy board as he begins to pitch a business opportunity. According to Msizi, while he was away in Dubai he made resourceful connections and believes these connections and Legacy’s network will lead to a good business deal. But Dineo is quick to remind everyone of Msizi’s history with corruption and leaves the meeting. 

Following this, Msizi comes to tell Dineo he wasn’t lying about having his own business dealings, dealings that don’t need Legacy to go ahead. He is trying to prove that his intentions for his return were purely because he seeks reconciliation, not business help. Msizi asks Dineo to give him a chance and meet him for a drink. 

Reluctantly, Dineo goes to meet him to ask why he is back. Msizi claims that Dineo is the sole reason he is back and that his life isn’t the same without her. Somehow this is enough to win Dineo over and the two end up spending the night together. It appears that even for a woman as strong as Dineo, love is blind. 

However, Dineo and Msizi’s rose-tinted glasses are soon removed when Thandi shows up at Dineo’s house for a confrontation. Thandi says that she will deal with Msizi later but first needs to have a word with Dineo. Msizi exits the room, leaving Thandi and Dineo alone, and you can cut the tension with a knife. 

Dineo apologises to Thandi for not telling her that she was speaking to Msizi again. However, Thandi is mad for another reason – Thandi and Sims had to find out through Lexi that Msizi returned. Dineo tells Thandi she didn’t know Msizi hadn’t told them and Thandi says that this is because Dineo never cares to ask. Thandi tells Dineo she no longer recognises Dineo’s relationship with Msizi, and in her eyes, Dineo is nothing but a “snack” to her husband and a snake to her.
