Mayday (2021)

A young woman finds herself in a dreamlike and dangerous land where she joins an army of girls engaged in a never-ending war. But is she the killer they want her to be? 

Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at last year’s Sundance Film Festival, Mayday stars Grace Van Patten, Mia Goth, Soko and Juliette Lewis. 

Screen International says Mayday is, “strikingly styled and suffused with a punchy, militarised feminist”, not to mention “heady with symbolism and vengeful female energy.” They call the film “an enjoyable oddity, which benefits from handsome production design, an exceptionally photogenic cast and its tone of feisty, militant weirdness.”
