Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018)
In this sixth instalment of this mega-franchise, Ethan Hunt is being shadowed by a CIA assassin after a mission goes wrong. The capture of Solomon Lane fractured his organisation, but they have regrouped as the Apostles, a terrorist group determined to get their hands on plutonium to make a nuclear device. Hunt and his team miss their chance to secure the plutonium, and must go on a wild ride to get it back.
All the time, they’ll have to watch out for August Walker, the CIA operative on their tails. He’s played by Henry Cavill (Superman in Justice League) who joins the cast, along with Vanessa Kirby – an arms dealer known as the White Widow – and Angela Bassett, who plays the Director of the CIA. Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan and Alec Baldwin all reprise their roles.
With 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, Fallout is considered by many critics to be the best in the franchise. Flick Feast said: “Combined with exciting sequences such as adrenaline-fuelled motorcycle chases to one of the best bathroom fights in recent cinema, Fallout is easily one of the most thrilling action films this year.”
