The 6 biggest moments from the BBNaija S6 launch
The biggest reality TV show in Africa is back! The Big Brother Naija returns for the sixth season, and it’s bigger and better. This season promises tons of surprises – shine your eyes so you don’t miss them.
Also, Biggie’s house has a new look; it’s more colourful and spacious, and we have an extra room for something unique. The Head of the House room, especially, has experienced a spectacular makeover, and we envy who gets to occupy it first. Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who returns as host, gives us a tour of Biggie’s house, and his excitement at all the new changes is palpable. Catch his tour of the house here.
Asides from the stunning new look of the house, the launch weekend came with plenty of wow moments, and we will be diving into them.
Two-day launch
The Big Brother launch was a two-day affair for the first time. The boys came in on Saturday, and the ladies joined them on Sunday. It’s all part of the spice of the new season. This allowed the boys to have a day to themselves and gave them the chance to plan a mischievous prank.
The men’s prank
Sunday night took a different turn. The boys wore their underwear on their heads and kept mute as the girls came in, shushing any lady that says hello. A reminder that Nigerian men are rude. The climax was a fake collapse that didn’t seem to move the girls, and one of them, Maria, called it boring. Better luck impressing the babes next time, boys!
Biggie introduces wildcards
Rumours of fake housemates have followed the Big Brother Naija franchise, and Biggie is flaming the fire with a wildcard twist. Two of the 22 housemates are wildcard selections, and their fellow housemates will decide if they stay or go home. All they need to do is identify the wildcard housemates; if they don’t, we will have two extra housemates battle for 90 Million naira worth of prizes.
There is a genius and an ex-military Housemate
Laycon showed smart can thrive last season, but we have a different type of bookish housemate this year. He is a self-described polymath who can rap, paint, draw, photograph, and is a trained medical doctor. He is a lover of knowledge and seeks to learn different stuff. Will he be fun as Laycon or one of those boring intelligent people? Time will tell. We also have a former US soldier who served in Afghanistan. If Biggie plans to restrict our airflow this season, then yes, e choke.
Ebuka the style king
Ebuka Obi-Uchnedu never misses – and saying he looks good in any clothing is saying the obvious, but his outfits on both launch days were truly stunning.
Finally, washing machines!
The suffering has come to an end. The BBNaija housemates will have washing machines for the first time. Biggie listened to the cries of fans who hated seeing their favs wash with their hands. While this is welcome news, it will sadly eliminate romantic moments like Neo washing Vee’s underwear or Ozo following Nengi to do her laundry.
