The Queen: Fans can’t deal with Shaka’s death
Will we ever get over Shaka’s death? We don’t think so! Who’s going to “balance” us when things don’t make sense, or keep Kagiso on his toes? We knew that this day would come but we were clearly not prepared enough. Well, as they say, the show must go on. If you’re sitting there wondering what led to Shaka’s death, we’re more than happy to fill you in.
Chaos erupted after Mmabatho discovered that Shaka, her husband, was responsible for her mother’s death. She heard the news from Shaka’s cousin, Dingane, and immediately took her son and moved back to her aunt’s place.
The following day Shaka went to visit Mmabatho and the couple had a heart-to-heart conversation. She confronted him about what she heard from Dingane and asked him to tell her the truth.
He confessed to killing her mother before they even met and explained that the bomb that killed her mother was actually meant for Gracious. He also admitted that if he could change things he would and gave a sincere apology. However, it was too late! She made it clear that it’s over between them and asked him to leave.
Shots fired
The emotional scene was followed by Shaka meeting up with Dingane and Kagiso. Dingane basically admitted that he’s not sorry about telling Mmabatho the truth and that he did it because he felt as if Shaka had come between him and his father, Brutus. All three men took out their guns – Shaka shot Dingane, while Kagiso shot Shaka.
Kagiso then tried to calm the situation and told his cousin and brother that they needed to sort out their issues. They sat down and finally had a decent conversation where Dingane revealed every bad thing he had done to Shaka.
The end for Shaka
Shaka then tried to reach out to Mmabatho by calling her once again, and she told him to leave her alone. After being rejected by his wife Shaka had another fight with Dingane; Shaka ended up on the floor and he lost consciousness. Kagiso did everything in his power to wake his brother up but nothing worked. He was devastated when he realised that he was responsible for his brother’s death.
Meanwhile, Dingane insisted that they deal with the body and volunteered to get rid of it. He drove to an open veld where he burned Shaka’s lifeless body.
Just like that, Shaka is no more. As expected, fans are having a hard time coming to terms with his death and have taken to social media to share their thoughts.
One thing we know for sure is that no amount of crying and begging will bring Shaka back.
