The River: The truth finally comes out!
If there’s one thing that The River manages to do well, it’s leaving viewers wanting more. Week after week, the show ends on a cliff-hanger, which makes fans look forward to the next dose. If the previous week’s instalment of the 1Magic telenovela is anything to go by, upcoming episodes will be nothing short of drama. If you missed it, we’ve put together a quick recap just for you!
Episodes land on Showmax on the same day as the 1Magic broadcast, plus there are 110+ previous episodes to binge-watch!)
The secret is out
How far would you go to get the man of your dreams? Well, if you’re Sheree Jacobson, also known as Ronelle Radcliffe, you won’t have any limits. That’s what she showed us last week on The River after telling Zweli, who is married to Lindiwe, to get a divorce. Imagine the shock in his eyes when she demanded him to leave the love of his life? Of course, Zweli wasn’t going to take this lying down and he got his people to dig up some dirt on Ms Jacobson. It turns out, Sheree is not even her real name. It was revealed that the real Professor Jacobson died a few years ago in a tragic car accident, and this imposter has stolen her identity. We won’t lie, we really didn’t see this one coming.
Before you celebrate and think Zweli won, you’ve got another think coming. While Zweli finally managed to get Sheree out of his house, he didn’t quite manage to get her to keep her mouth shut about their alleged affair. Sheree, who likes playing the victim, went straight to Lindiwe’s office weeping, and she had those images she took of Zweli in a compromising position. She showed them to Lindiwe and, as you would expect, the mining magnate was at a loss for words. What will she do with this information? Has Sheree finally managed to break this happy home?
Do criminals ever change their ways?
They say a leopard never changes its spots. This is slowly proving to be true when it comes to Oupa. The ex-convict, who is trying to change his ways, is making viewers question if he’s really a changed man. The newly reformed convict’s character was really put to the test when an offer of a lifetime was put on the table. However, the offer didn’t come without terms and conditions. Oupa and his business partners were offered a R250 000 tender to deliver bread to the prison.
They were asked to not only follow through on procedures to register their bakery, but to also give the prison warden a kick back for his assistance with the tender deal. Frustration and the pressures of living his dream to walk on the straight and narrow path made Oupa reach his breaking point and pull out a gun on his long-time confidant Cobra. But no stress can come between these two besties, who have seen the best and worst together, and will not be deterred from their mission.
If you’re looking for drama, you better tune into The River now streaming on Showmax. New episodes air 15 minutes after the TV broadcast and all previous episodes are available to binge-watch.
