The River: Tumi out in the cold

As die-hard fans of 1Magic’s The River, if anyone had told us that Tumi would one day find herself with no one, we would never have believed it. Not too long ago, she got married to a man who adored her, moved in with his rich family, while also maintaining a healthy and supportive relationship with her mother and siblings.

However, things have taken a turn for the worst for Tumi. This comes after she discovered that Lindiwe and Zolani were lying to the community of Refilwe about building them houses. Instead of warning everyone about this scam, she chose to keep quiet and continue with the lie (after Lindiwe convinced her, of course). But a while later, Tumi realised that she couldn’t deceive her family and friends and came clean about everything. But it looks like she it was a little too late, as Walter had already told community members about Lindiwe’s lie.

By the time Tumi warned her family about this, they had already found out. Trying to do the right thing, Tumi packed her bags, moved out of the Dikana household and went back to her family in Refilwe. She apologised to her family, but Malefu didn’t want to hear any of it.

Malefu rejects Tumi

The sad part is that in her anger and disappointment, Malefu blurted out that Tumi isn’t her “blood” and that she’s not her child. If you still remember, Mr Mokoena brought Tumi in after finding her neglected on the streets as a baby. He and his wife raised her as their own, but it now seems like Malefu is fed up and no longer wants anything to do with her.

When her mother was saying all these hurtful things, the only thing Tumi wanted to know was what she was talking about. She was shocked and confused, and it looks like Thuso (Cobra) could have an idea about what’s going on.

For a long time, it seemed like the Mokoenas were the perfect family – their financial struggles aside. Malefu was admired for always loving and supporting her children, but we guess she’s really had enough now and she’s ready to reveal just how she feels about Tumi.

We could be getting ahead of ourselves here, but we can’t help but wonder if she really loved Tumi in the first place? Or maybe when she told her that she’s not her “blood” she didn’t mean it the way everyone else is taking it?

Either way, Tumi has found herself out in the cold and with no one else to turn to. What will she do next? Whatever it is, we hope she’ll be able to survive this season in her life.
