The Royals S4
Queen Helena is the matriarch of a very different Royal Family than we’re used to, one beset by scandal and bad behaviour. By the fourth season, her son, Robert is king, and she’s comfortably directing operations from behind the scenes. Her twin children are up to no good, as usual, as Eleanor dabbles in all things scandalous and Liam flirts with power – and any available woman.
Enjoy the fun of getting of imagining what could go on behind palace doors – if all decorum (and most clothes) were stripped away. Elizabeth Hurley heads up the cast as the Queen (and later, Queen Mother).
The series might get a few things wrong about royal protocol, but it’s utterly camp and utterly fun and, as the Sydney Morning Herald remarked “bemoaning a lack of verisimilitude in such a deliberately camp trans-Atlantic contrivance is like complaining that Road Runner cartoons misrepresent the laws of physics as they pertain to coyotes and anvils.”
