The most epic, explosive moments in Mayans MC Season 4

Life in a biker gang isn’t all open roads, freedom and roaring motors. There’s also violence, vengeance, drugs and guns. When bikes are life and you don’t have a taste for grit, you’re out, son!

Mayans MC (Motorcycle Club) is a spin-off series from drama series Sons of Anarchy, which revolved around a motorcycle club – SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Originals) – operating in Charming, a fictional town in California.

In Season 1 of Mayans MC, viewers get to know the main character Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo) who joins the club as a prospect after his family’s life is destroyed by cartel violence. EZ’s vengeance drives him to a life he never intended, and one he can now never escape.

In Season 2, EZ sets out to find more information about the man behind his mother’s death. It’s a mission that puts the Mayans MC alliance with SAMCRO in a difficult position.

And in Season 3 (available on Showmax), all hell breaks loose as the club wants to gain more power and crown one King among all their allies, or charters, as they call them, who will then be in a position to broker deals between them.

This June, the brand-new Season 4 of Mayans MC kicks-off, promising to be even more explosive than those previous seasons. And that says a lot, given all the drama that’s already taken place. But a lot happens in Season 3 that you need to be up to speed with first. And then read on for all the dirty details about Season 4…

Season 3 recap

Just as the Santo Padre Mayans charter thought they had control of everything and Bishop (Michael Irby) was crowned King after the Mayans “killed off” the leaders Ramos (Ivo Nandi) and Canche (Jimmy Gonzales) from the Stockton charter and the Yuma charter respectively, the tables turned when Canche made his return, fuming!

Burning for vengeance after he survived a car bombing with his young son nearby, Canche united the remaining charters to launch a full-scale ambush on the Santo Padre charter. Now they’ll not stop till every Mayans member, including EZ, is wiped from the face of the Earth.

It’s a tragedy for EZ, who was about to ditch gang life and slip away with the love of his life, Gaby (Sulem Calderon), who ultimately walked out on him after EZ’s father Felipe (Edward James Olmos) begged her to leave EZ behind. He told her that EZ was broken and would only pull her down as he drowned…

Season 4’s biggest moments

“In Season 4 the characters are facing the consequences of their actions,” says JD. “With EZ, he is really feeling the weight of his choices especially convincing Bishop to be the one King and dominating all the charters, which ultimately backfired.”

Actor Edward James Olmos adds, “We’re looking into a reality that’s going to become very difficult, and the fourth season has become dark.”

That’s certainly an understatement. As Season 4 starts, EZ and the Santo Padre charter are surrounded in their compound and there is no way out…

As to how EZ and his crew will make it out alive, you’ll have to start streaming Season 4 for answers.

Here are some more epic moments in Season 4 to entice you to start watching:

  • There’s a death… we are dying to tell you who but that would just spoil everything. What we can say, though, is that EZ takes it the hardest.
  • Gaby returns in episode 7, which pushes to an unexpected ending.
  • The Mayans MC bring death to the Sons of Anarchy’s doorstep in episode 8.
  • New alliances are formed in episode 9 and the club is restored to its former glory, but how long will that fragile peace hold?
