Watch the MultiChoice Origins series on Showmax
MultiChoice has launched a new docuseries titled Origins, a celebration of Africa’s storytellers. Staying true to the narrative of being Africa’s most loved storyteller, the series showcases a group of individual storytellers on the brink of glory. These five films are available to stream on Showmax.
Origins delves into the craft, heritage and journeys of each of the featured storytellers. Through the Origins campaign, MultiChoice celebrates the group of creatives at the vanguard of creativity on the continent.
“As MultiChoice, we know that every individual has a story to tell and that telling those stories is important because stories are universal. We are passionate about showcasing and spotlighting these stories and the people who create them,” says Collen Dlamini, Group Executive for Corporate Affairs at MutliChoice.
Produced by Matshepo Maja, the docuseries shines a light on the lives of jazz musician and theatre practitioner Mandisi Dyantyis, historian and academic Zikhona Valela, artist in learning Tony Gum, multidisciplinary artist Manthe Ribane and filmmaker Sanaa Mothabisa, you will see stories that started humbly and how the journey from great to incredible unfolds.
“This is a reminder that the world is waiting to listen to your story. We hope we inspire more storytellers to take centre stage and be unapologetic about their craft,” says Dlamini.
