eHostela S2: Mndeni’s roots are intertwined with Celemba’s
Life is all about choices, right? And unfortunately, we have to live with the choices we make for the rest of our lives. Mndeni on eHostela S2 is quickly learning this tough lesson. After killing an innocent man last week just to prove his loyalty to the Brotherhood, Mndeni is having a hard time living with his actions.
He confronted Ma’Skhakhane about framing Mbuzi. “You set me up and made me kill an innocent man… You’re a woman driven by hate and revenge who’s no good and always wants to see blood spill,” he told her.
Although she knew exactly what she was doing, Ma’Skhakhane lied to Mndeni.
“I thought his hands were covered in blood… Mbuzi’s death was a casualty,” she said. Mndeni obviously didn’t buy that and got really angry. He asked her: “Why can’t you tell me who my uncle is? Why would you bring me back to a life I swore I’d never go back to?”
Ma’Skhakhane told Mndeni that people sometimes have to do things that they don’t want to do and begged him to work with her. “Help me. Work with me so that we bring Celemba down.”
Mndeni has no idea that his uncle is right under his nose. A lot of people know the truth about his family, and it seem like no one is ready to tell him yet.
Celemba and Mndeni are related
It turns out, Celemba is Mndeni’s uncle. Yes, this is the same Celemba that Mndeni is trying to bring down. Celemba revealed this to one of his cronies. Speaking about Mndeni, the gang leader said: “He [Mndeni] and I go a long way back. Our relationship is deep. With him, it’s not just about the Brotherhood. I mean, Mndeni is like a son to me because he’s my late brother’s son.”
While Mndeni is desperate to reconnect with his family, Celemba is not ready to tell him the truth just yet.
“I can’t [tell him]. I can’t have the cleansing ceremony for him. If I do, he might leave the Brotherhood and I still need to work with him. That’s the problem.”
Celemba is clearly being selfish here. We can’t help but wonder how Mndeni will react when he learns the truth about his family.
