Marvel’s Runaways S2-3

Marvel’s off-beat Runaways series is ending with Season 3, and it’s an acceptable wrap to the series that has delivered while flying under the radar.

It’s not just the big-screen superheroes from Marvel keeping us entertained, their lesser-known compatriots are doing it on the smallscreen. Like the Runaways teens, who finished Season 2 using their superpowers to save their possessed friends from their ultra-aggressive, superpowered parents.

The series may have shifted away from its character-driven storylines, and that’s largely down to the formula of the kids trusting the wrong people, rejecting the right people and being united in their time of need. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deliver.

“The back half of the season feels far more alive than Runaways has since probably the beginning of Season 1 … the show feels fun again,” writes Tim Stevens from thespool.net.
