Snitch (2013)

A father’s love goes a long way in Snitch, with The Rock playing construction boss John Matthews in this biographical drama. Nothing out of the ordinary – he looks like he’d swing a mean sledgehammer anyway. But John is forced to go undercover into a drug cartel to save his troubled teen son Jason (Rafi Gavron).

Like many foolish teens who know it all, Jason was talked into being a drug mule and he’s been arrested and thrown in prison. John won’t tolerate his son being used and abused by a cartel and he agrees to help the DEA by finding the source of the drugs. He lies, cheats and steals his way into the cartel, using his construction business to convince the dealers that he can set up an inconspicuous trade route.

Expect your usual Rock fare: sassy one-liners from the former WWE superstar wrestler who makes his action scenes look so real that you’ll be left “oooh-ing” and “aaah-ing” and wincing every time John punches someone through the wall.

Great fun for dads who dig The Rock… or want to remind their children that fathers will fight with their final breath to save their children, even when said child was very, very silly.
