The Real Housewives of Durban S3: Get ready for a different side of Nonku
Nonku is excited about Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Durban. The mother and businesswoman who has been part of the show since it first hit our screens in 2021 is ready to show fans a different side of her. During a recent interview with the star, she revealed that in the first two seasons, viewers didn’t quite understand her as they were still getting to know her.
Nonku has good intentions
“In the first two seasons, I was establishing myself, putting myself out there. So I felt like I was very misunderstood,” she shared. Although being on the show results in fame, Nonku isn’t focused on being famous.
“I want to be effective.” She’s aware of the fact that on Season 2 she was “a mess”, adding that she went through a period where she was questioning everything about her life.
However, she’s now in a place where there’s a lot more clarity in her life. “I’m at a place where I’m very content about myself. I’m happy and my relationship with God is just tight … I’m glowing.”
Yes, we saw her getting into disagreements with some of her co-stars in the past, but that doesn’t make her a bad person. Nonku wants people to know that she has a good heart and good intentions. “I know I tend to say things out of turn but it’s never malicious in any way,” she said.
Advice to the new cast members
So, now that new ladies are joining the show, what should they expect? Nonku’s advice is simple: “Ninga phaphi (don’t be forward). People come to the show thinking it’s just easy-peasy. It can be very emotionally draining.” She also touched on cyberbullying, which she’s unfortunately had to deal with. “Whatever happens, don’t take it personally, don’t take it to heart. And also, social media is real.”
Nonku advised the new housewives to be strong. “I know from experience, I’ve learned not to be a bully, but I’ve learned to be tougher, so I don’t let anything or anyone get to me on that level.” She’s clearly not one to take anything to heart, considering the fact that she now has a close relationship with Jojo. You might remember that they had a rocky start on Season 2. However, Nonku now feels like Jojo is her “girl”.
It seems like there’ll be a lot of twists and turns on Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Durban. We’re looking forward to all the action. Watch new episodes of the show every Wednesday from 1 February 2023, only on Showmax.
