At the Oscars last night, presenters Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty were unwittingly part of the worst gaffe we’ve ever seen at an Academy Awards ceremony – and that includes Jennifer Lawrence tripping up the stairs when she went to collect her Best Actress Award for Silver Linings Playbook in 2010.

To be fair, it wasn’t really the presenters’ fault. Because of an unfortunate envelope mix-up, they proclaimed La La Land as the Best Picture winner. The crew came on-stage to accept the award and started making their speech. But someone behind the scenes realised their mistake …
… And halfway into their speech, there was a pause, and the mistake was explained. The La La Land crew literally had to hand the Oscar over to Moonlight.
But they were very gracious about it, we’ve got to say. And a lot of Moonlight fans, including Jessica Chastain, were like, yip, that’s better.
