Diiche recap episode 2: Did Jimmy kill Nnamdi?
Diiche wakes up screaming and sweating profusely. A terrible dream, but her day is about to get worse. An angry inspector Anene and her colleague, Kazeem, await her downstairs. They have come with more question – this time motivated to take her in because someone tried to kill Anene over her earring. But a call from an Oga scuppers that plan, and they decide to question her at home.
She answers their questions but doesn’t reveal much, even when pressed about an argument she had with Nnamdi that night. When they ask who else could want Nnamdi dead, she mentions a few names, and a certain Ichie G-Money strikes a chord. He is an enigmatic club owner familiar to Kazeem.
Watch this highlight from the Diiche screening
G-Money seems suspicious. He and Nnamdi got into business weeks before the latter’s murder. Nnamdi wanted to make a big film, an action sci-fi thriller that would cost two billion Naira, and the businessman was willing to provide funding but only if Diiche would lead it. He is obsessed with her in the same way many men are with famous beautiful actresses.
Nnamdi tells G-Money he has seen all there is to Diiche and he shouldn’t worry about getting her on the film. G-Money smiles at the thought of it all. But their discussion irritates Nnamdi’s partner, Jimmy, who tries to bring the conversation back to business but ultimately leaves the meeting angrily.
Jimmy clearly has a soft spot for Diiche; we see a sweet moment he shares with her three hours before Nnamdi’s murder. And Ichie G-Money opined all wasn’t well with the business partners. Did Diiche come between them, or did Jimmy kill Nnamdi over a business disagreement?
Maybe both. Maybe none.
It will become clear next Thursday when episode 3 of Diiche drops on Showmax.
