Why do I need to download a new app as a returning customer?
In early 2024, Showmax migrated to a brand-new technology platform, powered by Peacock’s global streaming technology. Your Showmax customer profile should still exist – depending on how long you’ve been away – but you will need to download the most recent app on your devices.
How do I set up profiles on Showmax?
Find the content each person in your household loves more easily, and create up to six profiles on the Showmax app.
Set up kids’ profiles and set age restrictions so that you can ensure your little ones don’t see content that’s not appropriate for them. You can also protect your adult profiles with a PIN.
For the first time, you’ll also be able to choose an avatar for each of your profiles.
When you download the app, you’ll be prompted to set up profiles. If you want to edit your profiles later, just click on your account icon to edit or add.
How to change your app store country
Can’t find the new Showmax app? It’s possible that your device settings are set to a country or region outside Africa where Showmax is not available. You’ll need to do this in the Settings of your device, not in the Showmax app. Here are the countries where Showmax is available.
