Nick Mutuma’s #ShowmaxAddiction
Kenyan star Nick Mutuma shares his #ShowmaxAddiction. Catch Nick in This Is It on Showmax in Kenya.
What are you working on at the moment that you’re excited about?
I just wrapped up working on the 5th season of MTV Shuga, which was filmed in South Africa. It was great to start the year off working on such a quality production alongside some of the finest talent in Africa.
I’m even more excited about the fact that this year I have projects lined up across the continent. It’s amazing that the African film industry is finally coming together and working towards a common goal: bringing quality to the African narrative.
What made you decide to get into television in the first place?
I knew I always wanted to be on TV – my life changed for the better when my parents bought a camcorder. I’d record anything everything. I’ve always loved being in front and behind the camera.
What are you watching on Showmax?
This is It! I also enjoy Luther and Game of Thrones.
What classic series do you rewatch over and over, and why?
It would have to be The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It’s such a timeless show, and Will Smith was the guy I wanted to be, he still is.
Who is your favourite Kenya actor and why?
My favourite Kenyan actor is Raymond Ofula, he’s a legend in the game.
What’s one classic film every one should watch?
Pulp Fiction! Quentin Tarantino was ahead of his time if you ask me, also it’s rare to find so many superstars in one film.
What do you like about internet TV?
I love having options and being able to decide what I wanna watch and when. I also love how internet TV is able to read my show tastes and preferences based on what I watch!
