The Wife Season 3 episode 37-39 recap: Tshedi exposes Naledi's sex tape
The Wife Season 3 episodes 37-39 pick up from where we left off with Qhawe and Mqhele at loggerheads after finding out about Mthaniya’s paternity. Nkosana tries to bring peace among the brothers but is it enough to end this drama threatening to tear the Zulu family apart?
Meanwhile, Sefako’s family begins the process for Naledi’s lobola negotiations. While Qhawe drowns his sorrows, Tshedi exposes Naledi for her sex tape.
Last week we learned that nothing gets hidden forever and that the truth will always come to light. Nkosana, the eldest brother, intervenes when he catches wind of Qhawe and Mqhele's feud. However, he soon realises that this is deeper than Hlomu's infidelity. Let’s recap this week’s episodes:
Nkosana bring peace among the Zulu brothers
Nkosana gathers the family around the dinner table to find out from Hlomu who exactly is Mthaniya’s biological father. The eldest brother attempts to bring peace and quiet to the Zulu family. Hlomu confirms that it is, indeed, Qhawe and Nkosana calls the two brothers aside to have a chat with them in private. He asks them to shake hands and asks that Mqhele continues to be Mthaniya’s father as he has already formed a bond with her.
Nkosana informs Hlomu that the brothers have made amends and the family forgives her for sleeping with her husband’s brother. To Nkosana and the rest of the family’s surprise, Hlomu has questions that need answers.
“Brother, I don’t know what you mean when you put it like that - that you people forgive me. Because now it seems like I acted alone in this. What about Qhawe and Mqhele? Why aren’t you blaming them too?" says Hlomu. She continues to express how she has put up with all sorts of challenges in her marriage including abuse, which even caused a miscarriage with her first pregnancy.
Nkosana apologises to Hlomu on behalf of the family and acknowledges that this is Mqhele's wrongdoing and reminds everyone that Hlomu was reserved, humble, and commanded respect when she became a part of the Zulu family. Mqhele admits his wrong but later shocks Hlomu when he pulls a gun on her in private, asking her to tell him who’s Mthaniya’s father. She tells him that he is the father.
Qhawe takes to the bottle and gets into trouble
Qhawe struggles to deal with his demons and goes on his "hot boy summer" escapades with Mqoqi. They start partying with girls at Crumbs (Hlomu's restaurant) and then end up taking them to an apartment where they continue drinking, among their other shenanigans. Unfortunately for the Zulu brothers, the girls spike their drinks and then rob them of everything they have.
After a wild night out, the Zulu brothers wake up, only to realise the girls took all of their belongings - wallets, car keys, money, and their clothes. Qhawe and Mqoqi walk back home half-naked and bump into cops who arrest them for drinking in public.
Lobola negotiations gone wrong
Naledi and Tshedi are still locking horns about their father’s true character. This is because Naledi refuses to see her father for who he is - a murderer. Tshedi has been trying to make her sister see the light but the Tswana princess still believes that Tshedi is making up all these accusations because she is still grappling with the loss of her husband.
When the lobola negotiations finally get underway, Sefako’s family refuses the number of cows the Montsho family is asking for. They are reminded that Naledi is the chief’s daughter and a qualified medical doctor. They also mention that Naledi is a virgin.

Just before Sefako’s family could agree to what’s being asked, Tshedi puts her sister on full blast! She walks in during Naledi’s lobola negotiations and tells everyone that Naledi has a sex tape on social media. The Sefako family is infuriated and the Montsho family is left with egg on their face.
