Terrence Creative and more celebrities take The Hot Seat
From the creators of 2022’s hit The Roast House comes another laughter-filled extravaganza, The Hot Seat, premiering this December on Showmax.
Produced by D&R Studios (The Real Housewives of Nairobi), The Hot Seat promises razor-sharp wit, bold banter and unforgettable moments as some of Kenya’s biggest celebrities and media personalities face the heat.
From comedian Terrence Creative to content creator Kabi wa Jesus, to celebrated media personality Willis Raburu, to controversy-stirring Andrew Kibe, to musician Willy Paul, to comedian Eddie Butita, to Sauti Sol’s Savara and more - no one escapes the flames.

Leading the charge as host is the sharp-witted Emmanuel Kisiangani, whose charisma and quick wit set the stage for an epic roast.
“The role of Roast Master is as humbling as it is exhilarating,” Kisiangani said. “I am on the front line, and I must set the pace and bring on an A1 performance every single time. It is a great responsibility but one that I really enjoy. The best show in the land needs the best host in the land, and I am happy to be that.”
Supporting Kisiangani is a powerhouse line-up of comedians, including Ruth Nyambura, George Waweru, Maina Munene, Oluoch Kariuki, Bashir Halaiki, Marcus Douglas, Stan Saleh, Tonio Kibz, and Ty Ngachira, who will take aim at Kenya’s beloved personalities with sharp, unfiltered humour.
D&R Studios, known for their exceptional production quality, is also behind the reality series Kyallo Kulture, and audience favourites like the 2021 Kalasha nominee Sol Family, 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice (AMVCA) nominee This Love, the 2018 Kalasha nominee Stori Yangu, and the 2019 Kalasha winner Our Perfect Wedding.
“We ventured into the stand-up comedy space after discovering a new crop of young comedians who we believed had great potential to connect with a young and urban audience. Since then, it has been an incredible journey producing one comedy show each year, with Hot Seat being our latest instalment.” says Eugene.
“Over the years, the comedians we have worked with have grown significantly in their craft, and you will see that reflected in the sharper performances and overall quality of the show. This time, we filmed at the Alloy Bar & Lounge, a location with stunning aesthetics that adds to the show's vibrant atmosphere,” added Eugene.
Mark your calendars for 10 December, when the first two episodes of The Hot Seat drop on Showmax, with new episodes every Tuesday.
