The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins | First on Showmax | Wednesdays from 4 March, express from the US
Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) stars as a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image with the help of Oscar-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin (Daniel “Harry Potter” Radcliffe).
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins holds a 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The mockumentary is co-created by 30 Rock creator Robert Carlock, with Morgan and Tina Fey among the exec producers. As Time says: “The 30 Rock team is at the top of its game.”
The Alabama Solution | First on Showmax | Stream from Thursday, 5 March
Nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 2026 Oscars, The Alabama Solution follows a six-year investigation into the Alabama prison system, as incarcerated men seek to expose alleged brutality and corruption.
From the Oscar-nominated filmmakers behind The Jinx, Andrew Jarecki and Charlotte Kaufman, The Alabama Solution won Best Political Documentary at the 2025 Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards.
The HBO Original has a 100% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Variety says: “The Alabama Solution is one of the most powerful exposés of the inhumanity of the American prison system I’ve ever seen … exerts a grip worthy of a thriller.”
Law, Love and Betrayal | Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161): Sundays at 8PM from Sunday, 8 March | Showmax Original: Mondays from 7 March on Showmax
Ayanda (Pearl Modiadie) is Gumede & Associates’ new boss, but she has everyone gunning for her, from her former mentor to Nkabinde Inc’s new advocate.
SAFTA winner Shannon Esra joins the cast as Sandra Stein, a recurring character across the likes of The River and Gomora. Other new faces include SAFTA nominee Nhlanhla Kunene (Adulting), Sparky Xulu (Empini) and Katlego Lebogang (Spinners), who won the National Film & TV Awards Best Newcomer prize in 2024.
YoMzansi described the first season as “a legal drama filled with twists, tension, and gripping courtroom chaos.”
Stumble S1 | Binge from Wednesday, 11 March on Showmax
Stumble is a mockumentary set in the competitive world of junior college cheerleading, where an elite coach is forced to start over with a new squad of lovable misfits.
The cast includes Jenny Lyon (Claws), Taran Killam (High Potential), Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies), and an ensemble of rising young stars.
Executive produced by real-life cheer coach Monica Aldama (Cheer), Stumble has an 82% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes. RogerEbert.com calls it “a flipping good time.”
The Valley: Persian Style | Binge from Thursday, 12 March on Showmax
The Valley spinoff Persian Style reunites Shahs of Sunset alums Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi and Mercedes “MJ” Javid as part of a group of Persian friends who have traded Beverly Hills for suburban life in the Valley.
The series premiere topped 2.1m viewers within seven days of its debut, according to NBCUniversal. The episode ranks as Bravo’s second-most-watched premiere of all time on Peacock.
Decider calls it “just the chaos we need”.
The Yogurt Shop Murders | First on Showmax | Binge from Thursday, 12 March on Showmax
In 1991, four teenage girls were brutally murdered at a frozen yoghurt shop in Austin, Texas. What happened that night continues to haunt their families and mystify the investigators.
The Yogurt Shop Murders holds a 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for two 2025 Critics’ Choice Awards: Best True Crime Series and Best Limited Documentary Series.
The Guardian calls the HBO documentary “a layered and complex true crime masterpiece.”
London Calling | Showmax | Stream from Monday, 16 March
Shot around Cape Town, London Calling stars ten-time Teen Choice Award nominee Josh Duhamel (Transformers) as hitman Tommy Ward. Down on his luck, he’s forced to take his new crime boss’s timid son, Julian, along on his latest contract killing.
MTV Movie Award winner Jeremy Ray Taylor (Ben in the It films), Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt in Suits), and BAFTA nominee Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger in Game of Thrones) co-star.
The South African cast includes Emmy nominee Neil Sandilands, Arnold Vosloo, Brandon Auret, Erica Wessels and Die Kantoor’s breakout star, Daniah de Villiers.
Ted S2 | First on Showmax | Binge from Wednesday, 18 March
In 1994, senior year is underway for Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear and his best friend, John.
Oscar-nominated franchise creator Seth MacFarlane returns to voice Ted, with Max Burkholder (Max Braverman in Parenthood) as John.
Season 1 broke records in 2024, becoming Peacock’s most-watched original title and the #1 original streaming comedy in the US for two consecutive months.
The Mortician | First on Showmax | Binge from Thursday, 19 March
In Southern California in the 1980s, the family-run Lamb Funeral Home was accused of engaging in years of unethical practices, including mass cremations and theft from the deceased.
The Mortician was “the most-watched HBO documentary series in over five years”, according to Deadline.
The three-part HBO documentary series holds an 85% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. In its five-star review, The Guardian called it “pound for pound more staggering than The Jinx… When the credits roll, you realise that you haven’t drawn breath for several minutes.”
Ladies of London: The New Reign S1 | First on Showmax | Fridays from 20 March
Ladies of London: The New Reign revives the reality franchise, following a new group of British aristocrats, American expats and international socialites navigating London’s high society.
The cast includes aristocrat Lady Emma Thynn, fashion icon Martha Sitwell, it girl Lottie Kane, Swedish-born model Missé Beqiri, actress Margo Stilley, antiques dealer Kimi Murdoch, decorum expert Myka Meier, and socialite Mark-Francis Vandelli, the first man to join the main cast in the franchise.
The Bad Guys S2 | First on Showmax | Friday, 20 March
The now-reformed Bad Guys are trying to be good but instead find themselves hijacked into a globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals: the Bad Girls.
Oscar winner Sam Rockwell, Emmy winner Awkwafina, Grammy winner Anthony Ramos, Emmy nominee Craig Robinson and comedian Marc Maron return to voice the Bad Guys. Oscar nominees Danielle Brooks (A Minecraft Movie) and Maria Bakalova (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) join Emmy nominee Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll, Poker Face) as the Bad Girls.
The Bad Guys 2 was nominated for Best Animated Film at the 2026 Annie Awards and holds an 87% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Guardian calls it “snappier, funnier and more relaxed than the first film”.
Niggies | Binge on Showmax from Wednesday, 25 March 2026
In 1965, Issie Fourie and Petro Nel were kidnapped and murdered in the Free State town of Odendaalsrus. Issie's brother, André, swore to bring the perpetrator to justice. It would take him 18 years.
Silwerskerm winner Beer Adriaanse (Hotel, Wonderlus) and newcomer Janru Steenkamp lead the all-star cast as the older and younger André. SAFTA winner Jaco Bouwer (Spinners) directs, with Wolflight Films (iEmmy nominee Koek) producing.
Niggies is up for seven South African Film and Television Awards, including Best TV Drama. Leon van Nierop gave it 10/10, writing in Maroela that it “changes the Afrikaans TV landscape.”
Powerbook IV: Force S3 | First on Showmax | Binge from Wednesday, 25 March
Joseph Sikora (Power, Ozark) is back as Tommy in the third and final season of Power Book IV: Force.
With enemies closing in, Tommy will have to be strategic in his quest to take over Chicago's drug game, while also protecting those he loves the most. As Tommy says in the trailer, “This is gonna be the battle of my f**king life.”
Created by Emmy nominee Robert Munic (The Cleaner) and executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Power creator Courtney A Kemp, Force has an 8.1/10 score on IMDb. Decider says, “Sikora just plain eats up the screen.”
Southern Hospitality S4 | First on Showmax | Thursdays from 26 March
Southern Hospitality follows Leva Bonaparte and her staff at Republic nightclub in Charleston, South Carolina.
Southern Hospitality was nominated for Outstanding Reality Program at the 2026 GLAAD Media Awards, with Michols Peña nominated for the 2026 Reality TV Star Queerty.
