19 August 2025

Babes (2024)

Labelled “the comedy of the year” by Awards Watch, Babes follows childhood best friends Eden and Dawn, now in different phases of adulthood. When single Eden decides to have a baby on her own after a one-night stand, their friendship faces its greatest challenge.

Emmy-nominated Broad City co-creator and star Ilana Glazer plays Eden. She also co-wrote and produced the film. Critics Choice-winning comedienne Michelle Buteau co-stars as Dawn, alongside comedians Hasan Minjah and Sandra Bernhard, Emmy nominees Oliver Platt and Stephan James, John Caroll Lynch (Ballard) and Oscar nominees the Lucas brothers (Judas and the Black Messiah).

The feature film directorial debut of Emmy nominee Pamela Adlon (Better Things), Babes has an 87% critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with Variety hailing it as “howlingly funny” and Rolling Stone as “the Bridesmaids of babymaking.”
