Binge-watch The Laugh Africa Comedy Festival, featuring Celeste Ntuli and more
The Laugh Africa Comedy Festival is back for a second season, and it’s not just a show – it’s a cultural phenomenon. Bursting with belly laughs, brilliant punchlines, and some of the biggest names in South African comedy, this year’s edition delivers a celebration of humour that transcends borders, languages, and cultures. And the best part? All 13 episodes are now ready to binge, exclusively on Showmax.
Celeste Ntuli steals the spotlight
The queen of South African comedy, Celeste Ntuli, kicks off the season with a no-holds-barred set, tackling everything from her weight loss journey to the joys (and surprises) of menopause.
“It’s the little things that make you realise you’ve lost weight,” she says. “I walked past my mirror naked and thought ... oh, that’s my vagina. I haven’t seen it in a while!”
It’s obvious why she won Comedian of the Year at the 2025 Comics Choice Awards.

Felix Hlophe: "I’ve arrived!"
Fan favourite Felix Hlophe describes performing at the Laugh Africa Comedy Festival as a career-defining moment.
“For us comedians, this is a huge milestone. Holding that stage solo, in front of a massive crowd, isn’t for the faint-hearted. When I got the call, I thought, ‘Yoh… I’ve arrived!’ It’s been the apex of my career – I hope to be back next year.”

Griff brings the global laughs – with a local twist
US comedian Griff returns for the second year in a row. His deep love for South Africa shines through every tailored joke. He doesn’t just perform, he immerses.
“I’m in love with Mzansi. The nine provinces, the twelve official languages… and there’s something about ubuntu here that’s hard to explain to Americans,” Griff shares.
“From landing and going straight to a shisa nyama, to diving into pap and chakalaka, I don’t want to be the American who only talks about lions and tigers. I want to reflect you – the people. When I perform here, it’s about the South African audience, period.”
