Laugh Africa Presents: The Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini
The Savanna and Showmax Laugh Africa Comedy Festival is set to get tongues wagging with The Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini. Live recorded on Friday, 5 April at the Sandton Convention Centre, this event marked Minnie Dlamini’s debut in the world of comedy roasts. Ahead of the Roast taping, Dlamini said she looked forward to a lighthearted take on her illustrious career and personal anecdotes.
“There’s nothing I love more than a good laugh,” said Minnie. “I ended off the year with my show Curated on Mzansi Magic, embracing humour about myself and societal happenings. The roast is about having fun and not taking myself too seriously. I may also get an opportunity to dispel many of the rumours told about me. The roast is fundamentally a celebration of my career.”
Roast masters Tumi Morake and Jason Goliath oversee a panel that includes comedy bigwigs Celeste Ntuli and Trevor Gumbi, celebrated TV broadcasters Penny Lebyane and Robert Marawa, cut-throat journalist Shahan Ramkissoon, award-winning YouTuber Lasizwe, rapper Da L.E.S, and actor Siv Ngesi.
