Onthul S1-2

From award-winning producers IdeaCandy (Tracking Thabo Bester, Devilsdorp), this edition of the investigative series Onthul takes an in-depth look at the Stellenbosch University (SU) men's hostel that made headlines after disturbing photos of two rooms in the dormitory were circulated and rumours emerged about suspicious activity that had been happening there over decades.

In Wilgenhof: Trauma or Tradition?, investigative journalist and SU alum Pieter-Louis Myburgh, director Nina Swart (Fynskrif, Troukoors, Tuiskoms) and producer Wynette Theart (In Gesprek) set out to discover what was really going on at Wilgenhof, and hear from both sides in the argument for and against the closure of the hostel.

Participants include journalists Adriaan Basson and Jo Prins, constitutional expert Professor Pierre de Vos, psychologist Anton Böhmer, and Professor Vasti Roodt, as well as former Wilgenhoffers such as Neels van Jaarsveld, Samore Menze and Louis van der Riet.
