The action drama has pulled through two previous cancellations, and although CBS has confirmed that Season 8 will be the final-final, there’s already talk of a spin-off series in the works with a different studio.

Movies

Khaki Fever | Showmax Original | Stream from Friday, 5 September, fresh from its sold-out Silwerskerm premiere

In Khaki Fever, a group of game rangers set up a challenge to see who can hook up with the most tourists during a season. The prize? The title of being the King of Khaki, as well as the losers’ collective tips. The challenge? Outsmarting Anel, the conservative lodge manager, who has made it clear that anyone caught fraternising with guests will be fired on the spot.

SAFTA-nominated Top Billing presenter Christopher Japhta leads the cast as Daniel, with Francois Jacobs (Kaalgat Karel) stealing the show, and his first Silwerskerm award, as Albie. Liam Bosman and Ilse Klink were also nominated for Khaki Fever at Silwerskerm, with Bosman also up in the TV category for Een Keer Om Die Som and Klink winning for Nerêns, Noord-Kaap. Also look out for 2025 Silwerskerm nominees Anja Taljaard and Trix Vivier (both Juffrou X), singer Abel Knobel, Sean Brebnor (Getroud Met Rugby), Izette Blignaut (Binnelanders) and Juanita de Villiers (Reënboogrant).

Khaki Fever is the second comedy from director Brett Michael Innes, building on the success of Daryn’s Gym, which competed at Rotterdam. The Brutalist follows László Toth, a Hungarian Jewish architect. After surviving the Holocaust, László emigrates to the United States to start a new life. The Brutalist won three Oscars, including Best Actor for Adrien Brody; three Golden Globes, including Best Picture and Best Director for Brady Corbet; and over 120 other awards. Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce were both Oscar-nominated for their supporting roles.

The Brutalist was hailed as “exhilarating” by Time, “electrifying” by Vogue, “an instant classic” by Rolling Stone; and “a towering tribute to the immigrant experience” by Rotten Tomatoes.
