Wura episode 93 – 96 recap: “Dimeji, I can’t let you do this.”
This week’s episode of Wura begins with everyone eagerly awaiting news from Dimeji’s uncles regarding Bisola’s family’s approval of their marriage. Finally, the highly anticipated news is delivered – Bisola’s family has given their approval.
“Dimeji, I’m just here to tell you it is a yes,” one of Dimeji’s uncles announces.
“Congratulations! It went exactly as we wanted it, so now, you have become a groom.”
Paulina’s bar erupts in jubilation. Finally, Dimeji is getting married! Kazeem and Mide jubilantly sing praises to Dimeji. Kazeem even asks for free drinks, but Paulina isn’t interested in his request. Bisola walks in amidst the celebration.
“My husband,” she exclaims as she approaches Dimeji, a radiant smile adorns her face.
“My husband, I love the sound of that.”
Bisola wants them to move quickly with the marriage plans, fearing that Dimeji might wake up the next morning with a change of plans. She wants them to move quickly to solidify their relationship before he resumes dreaming of Tumi.
Meanwhile, there is a new update at the Adeleke residence. Jeje has been released following Shadrach’s withdrawal of his previous statement. Kanyinsola is unhappy with this development, while Wura is over the moon. However, Tony isn’t eager to welcome Jeje into his home.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Tony shouts as Jeje walks into the house. Jeje explains that the charges have been dropped after Shadrach withdrew his statement, but Tony isn’t having any of that. He informs Jeje that he doesn’t want him in his house when he returns from work.
Tumi’s transfer of aggression
Mide and Ebun are bearing the brunt of Tumi’s misplaced anger following the breakup with Dimeji. Even something as simple as preparing breakfast for Ebun is neglected and she couldn’t be bothered.
Her newfound nonchalance reaches a dangerous point when she almost burnt the family’s house dozing off while cooking. Mide has reached his limit with her tantrums and reckless irresponsibility. He will no longer tolerate any of that, so he scolds her harshly. But true to his nature, Mide goes overboard, causing Ebun, their younger sister, to caution him.
“Ahn ahn! Brother Mide, it is just a mistake,” she says, trying to make him see reasons.
However, Mide persists, piling on his scolding and forcing Tumi to tears.
Dimeji’s apology
Kazeem mentions Tumi at Paulina’s bar and Dimeji’s immediate concern is for her well-being, he anxiously asks about how she is coping. Mide responds nonchalantly that she has been struggling and sleeping excessively, and even almost burnt down their house. The news weighs heavily on everyone’s heart, except for Mide, who seems to be the only one in Iperindo that doesn’t understand the depth of his sister’s heartache.
Dimeji seems visibly worried and decides to visit Tumi, but he meets the sharp-tongued Ebun instead.
“Is Tumi at home, I heard she is ill?” Dimeji politely asks. Ebun sarcastically asks him to guess the reason.
“All she does is cry, refuse to eat, and lay in bed sobbing because of you. Is that what you want to hear?” Ebun continues.
She berates Dimeji, forgetting he is much older, then politely asks him to leave.
Dimeji marries Bisola
The D-day is here: Dimeji is marrying Bisola! The entire community of Iperindo gathers to celebrate their union. Amidst the activities, Tumi attempts one last effort to convince Dimeji that they belong together.
“Dimeji, I can’t let you do this,” she pleads. “What about us? Isn’t our love worth fighting for? Dimeji, I’m the one for you. I have searched my heart and I know it to be true.”
But it is too late. It is not even about love, and Dimeji admits so. He confesses to Tumi that he still loves her and always will, but duty demands he marries Bisola. Almost teary, he walks away as Tumi pursues him. Kazeem intervenes and pulls her away.
Despite her desperate plea, Dimeji has made his choice, and the ceremony proceeds with the community rejoicing with the couple as Tumi, who later attends the event, watches hopelessly.
Jeje and Wura plot a murder
Jeje has barely recovered from his recent encounter with the law, and he is already plotting a murder.
“I say we get rid of her. Just say the words, Aunty,” he suggests to Wura after they figure out Kanyin and Fola were behind his arrest.
Suddenly, it dawns on Wura that Kanyin might have been planning other things as well. She checks the place she keeps the original documents of Frontline Gold, only to realise they are missing. Kanyin has gone too far!
Wura takes immediate steps to address the situation, but also decides to appeal to both Fola and Kanyin, particularly her stepdaughter. She opens up to Kanyin about feeling uncomfortable with her relationship with Fola.
“About your relationship with Fola, it somehow makes me feel threatened,” Wura admits, before emphasizing Fola should not come between them as they are family.
However, Kanyin remains vigilant. She won’t let sweet words from her diabolical stepmothemake her forget her plans.
To further demonstrate her goodwill, Wura gifts Kanyin a car. Now, everyone thinks she has truly embraced Kanyin as her family, which could make her a non-suspect, if Kanyin was to go for missing, for instance.
