The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 5: Friend or foe?
It’s The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 5 o’clock and as usual, we can’t keep calm.
The ladies continue to live their best lives in Abuja, and with Mariam joining the group, things look set to get spicy.
Here are all the highlights from episode 5 of The Real Housewives of Lagos.

Introducing … Mariam
This week saw the ladies meet Mariam for the first time on the show and what an entrance it was.
After saying hello, Mariam dove right into things, going head to head with Chioma during the game of musical chairs. Then it was time for truth or dare, where Mariam asked Laura why she chose to inject her nose and chin.
Crickets.
In true “I no send anybody” style, Laura responded, saying that she had “always wanted a bridge”, adding that she would “definitely do more”.
On a roll, Mariam goes on to ask Chioma’s friend and famous Nigerian designer OG of Style Temple why people perceive her as a b*tch. OG says, “maybe I’m a b*tch sometimes”. Asked to describe herself, OG says she’s “chill”, to which Toyin retorts “but it looks fake”.
Talk about gbas gbos.
Thankfully, OG takes it all in stride and Mariam ends things by daring Chioma to kiss her ass.
All is well that ends well.

Toyin quizzes Carolyna about her ex-husband
Speaking of endings, Toyin asks Carolyna during the game of truth or dare what happened between herself and her ex-husband, but Carolyna opts to say nothing.
“I respect him as the father of my kids,” she says.
In her diary session, Carolyna goes on to express her displeasure with Toyin over the question, saying it isn’t the first time she’s brought up Carolyna’s marriage.
“If Toyin feels like talking about someone’s marriage she should start with her baby-daddy.”
Are we finally about to get the tea on the previous fight between Carolyna and Toyin as hinted at by Laura? Time will tell.
Chioma and Laura talk things out ... or not?
Since the show kicked off, there’s been underlying tension between Chioma and Laura, which eventually culminated in major gbas gbos in episode 3, so it was to our surprise that we saw Chioma go to Laura’s room to check on her the morning after the slumber party.
After running through the itinerary of the day, Chioma asks Laura if there are any hard feelings left over and Laura says that she feels way better now that she knows they’re “cool but not friends”.
Ose unfriendly friend.
The pair end the morning catch-up with a hug and Laura thanks Chioma for a good time in Abuja.
We definitely still have our eye on these two.
The ladies clear the air
Over dinner, Chioma asks the ladies to play a game where they share what they think about each other now versus what they thought before.
Laura opens the floor by saying that she used to think Toyin was problematic, but now she realises she's actually quite unproblematic.
"You've been very classy and mature. Things that I'll hear and flip my wig to, Toyin will be unbothered. I've known you for years but that's actually something I'm getting to find out."
Mariam seizes the opportunity to tackle Carolyna over the weak handshake she gave her upon their first meeting. She concludes saying that now they've spent some time together, she no longer thinks of her as a total b*tch.
"At first I thought you were a b*tch, but still kind of a b*tch, but a cute one."
Next up, Toyin addresses Laura, saying that she thinks a lot of people misunderstand her, but that she is in fact just protective of the people she loves.
"You're very protective of the people you love and it puts you in a bad place amongst your friends and the people you love. A lot of people don't see the effort you put into what you do but Laura, keep it up, don't change who you are because you feel people are uncomfortable, just be yourself."
Chioma and Carolyna close things out with very nice words for each other, with Carolyna referring to Chioma as her "baby sister".
This ship continues to sail and we're here for it.

Laura and Mariam play catch up
Laura meets up with Mariam to catch her up on the group dynamics and tells her about the issues she's had with Carolyna and Chioma.
While Laura says that the issues have been resolved for now, she throws some shade that has us wondering if all is now really well between herself and Chioma.
Laura also goes on to warn Mariam about lies and fake living going around.
"Let me just tell you again, there are a lot of lies going around, people claiming that they have what they don't have, people claiming that they are what they're not."
Wahalurr.
After catching up on the group gist, Laura shares that she feels herself and Mariam will potentially clash because "our energies are high".
We'll certainly be on the lookout for this pair.
Laura leaves Mariam with epic advice no doubt gained from her experience with Chioma:
"Don't call anybody your friend, until they tell you that you're their friend."
Preach it, sis!

Ladies who lunch
Laura meets up with the ladies to invite them to her collection launch but not before gushing over Iyabo's brand-new veneers.
Chioma and Carolyna are noticeably absent but Laura appears unbothered, stating "sincerely, I don't give a sh*t if they don't show up."
Wawu.
Explaining her stance, Laura says every time they're around, their energy is off.
"We're cordial, we're very respectful to each other but we will never be cool because we've said nasty things to each other."
Will the ladies remain cordial or is another gbas gbos in the making? All episodes of The Real Housewives of Lagos, including the two-part reunion, are now streaming.
