Mrs Mops on her Mommy Club journey ... and departure

It’s been five weeks since The Mommy Club Season 3 premiered, and the show is already the most-streamed reality series on Showmax in 2025 so far. It continues to dominate social media, with every cast member making waves on the charts.

This season has introduced four new faces: Mrs J, Noksie, Pheladi, and Vuyi, who have joined Hermajesty and Mrs Sande. The dynamic between them is electric, with each lady adding her own unique flair.

In Season 3, reality TV veteran and OG cast member Mrs Mops surprised everyone by announcing that she would be stepping away from the show. We sat down with her to discuss what led to her decision, her time with The Mommy Club, and so much more.

Why did you decide to take on a friend role for the new season of the show?

I chose to take on a friend role this season because I wanted to shift my focus towards my business. Being part of a reality show is incredibly time-consuming, and in this new chapter of my life, my priority is growing Nala Reign, my family, and continuing to build my brand as a boss babe. The Mommy Club will always be home for me, though, and you can definitely expect me back!

How was your time filming the show?

Filming the show was such an incredible experience. It was a significant and meaningful part of my life, filled with unforgettable memories and deep, lasting connections. The crew became like family to me and I really cherished having them in my home and in my life. My kids also loved having the crew around - mainly because of all the yummy snacks they brought along!

What do you miss most about filming the show?

There’s so much to miss. Filming is a lot of fun, and getting ready for a scene always felt exciting, but it’s also a job at the same time. Creating television and entertaining people is something I’ve always been passionate about.

Did you make any solid friendships throughout your time on the show?

Absolutely! The show introduced me to some incredible women, and overall, it has been such a rewarding experience. While we’ve had our ups and downs, we always manage to come together as women, wives, businesswomen, and moms. The bond we share is real, and that’s something I will always treasure.

What was the most challenging aspect of being on The Mommy Club?

The most challenging part wasn’t the filming itself, but rather watching myself in vulnerable moments. Sometimes things happen during filming that get contained within the show, but once the audience sees it, it can take on a life of its own. If those moments don’t portray you in the best light, it can be tough to handle. But it's all part of the journey.

If you had to sum up your time on The Mommy Club in one word, what would it be and why?

Life-changing. The show has taught me so much, shaped me in ways I never expected, and introduced me to people and experiences that have truly impacted my life.

How do you plan to stay connected with The Mommy Club community after your departure?

I’ve been with the show since the very beginning, so it feels like one of my babies. There’s a deep bond I have with the show and with some of the ladies. It’s a huge part of my life, and I have real friendships with many of the mommies, both on and off the screen. I will always remain connected, and the show will always be a part of me.

What advice would you give to the current and future cast members of The Mommy Club?

It may sound cliché, but my advice is simple: always be yourself, on- and off-camera. When you’re authentic, there’s no need to pretend or do things you wouldn't normally do. Reality television is just that - real. You’ll have moments that aren’t perfect, but the key is to be adaptable and take accountability. I've had my own moments that I’m not proud of, but the important thing is to learn, grow, and move forward with a better understanding.

What’s next for you after leaving The Mommy Club? Do you have any new projects or ventures you’re excited about?

I’m working on some amazing projects right now. My business, Nala Reign, is growing, and I’m also balancing my 9-to-5 and motherhood. There are some exciting new things in the pipeline that I’m sure will surprise a lot of people. Just keep watching - big things are coming and you are going to read about them soon. The future is looking incredibly bright!

The Mommy Club franchise includes three cities: the flagship show, based in Johannesburg, which is currently in its third season, The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice, set in Durban’s Indian community, and The Mommy Club: Van die Hoofstad, which follows five women from a Tswana’s Afrikaans community and is currently streaming on Showmax every Friday.
