Princess on a Hill: Tensions rise with Zara's latest cryptic task
If you thought Princess on a Hill couldn’t get more dramatic, you thought wrong. Recent episodes have dropped more intrigue and power plays, serving up a masterclass in tension.
Zara’s world grows more chaotic as guilt, family tensions, and the dangerous machinations of the Lawson Group converge.
Guilt and regrets
Episode 5 plunges viewers into Zara’s spiraling guilt. Haunted by her confrontation with Mr Bello, she turns to Ozzy for a break from the chaos at work. But Mr Lawson has other plans. He reveals his helicopter crash wasn’t an accident but an attempt to kill him by someone close to him. He needs Zara to stay close as his spy in the company and orders her to move into his house for her safety.
At the same time, Zara and Ozzy’s professional relationship gets more complicated. Their shared kiss blurs the lines between work and something deeper. Things get messier when Menny confronts Zara, accusing her of neglecting her family and getting too close to her boss. The tension continues to grow, leaving Zara trapped in guilt and secrecy.
Meanwhile, Ogun Holdings becomes a mysterious player, influencing decisions at the Lawson Group, making it clear that the power struggle is far from over.
A looming power struggle
The stakes only get higher in episode 6. Tolani, now stalking Zara, confronts her with a barrage of questions about the helicopter crash and her mysterious boss. Zara’s attempts to deflect only fuel the tension.

Home life proves no safer as Zara's strained relationship with her mother comes to the fore. When Zara lashes out in frustration over the pressures she’s shouldering, the emotional toll becomes overwhelming. Yet it's during this chaos that we realise Zara is walking a fine line, torn between the demands of her conscience and the empire she is entangled in.
In the boardroom, the power struggle over the CEO position heats up. The board is thrown into disarray as Ogun Holdings steps in with an unexpected claim of being the largest shareholder of the Lawson Group.
The pawns take position
The drama in episode 7 is a chess match, with Mr Lawson pulling all the strings. He gives Zara another cryptic task: find people from the corporate ball and “plant seeds” to weaken Madame Obiora’s influence on the board. He makes it clear the delay in selecting the new CEO is just part of his plan to destroy his enemies.
Zara, caught between her castle and her family, comes home to unsettling truths. Her mother is distant, her brother Tanna is embroiled in legal chaos, and Menny brings old secrets to her doorstep.
But the real shocker? Mr Lawson uncovers Madame Obiora's alleged poisoning of her husband - a plot twist laced with betrayal and intrigue that flips the stakes of this chess match.

Meanwhile, Zara proves she's no pawn, slipping Mr Lawson’s lawyer a bribe to unearth the late Mr Obiora’s will.
Just when it seems Madame Obiora has the upper hand, the bombshell was dropped - Mr Patrick Obiora’s will leaves his shares to Ozzy, stripping Mrs Obiora of her power.
The return of the king
Episode 8 kicks off with Zara confronting Ozzy about keeping Mr Lawson’s secrets. Their exchange brings a rare moment of honesty, as Ozzy reveals his loyalty to Mr Lawson comes from a lifetime of trust.
The drama peaks in the boardroom, where the fight for the CEO position takes a shocking turn. Mr Lawson’s lawyer, Nkongho, reveals Patrick Obiora’s will, stating that all his shares go to his son, Ozzy. However, Ozzy confronts Mr Lawson, furious about how far he’s willing to go, even accusing Madame Obiora of trying to kill him in the past.

But the major climax of this moment comes when Mr Lawson makes his dramatic return to the Lawson Group boardroom. His reappearance shocks the company and dominates the news.
He casually talks about his comeback as if it were never part of the plan, dropping hints about a new mission for Zara. At this point, Zara is tasked with investigating a mysterious company called Ogun Holdings.
The drama is far from over but make no mistake: this is a chess game, and Mr Lawson is always three moves ahead.
