Flawsome episode 10 recap: “Dolapo, you suffer from acute egotism”
In Flawsome episode 10, After the humiliating scenes at Lerato’s event that landed them in cell, the ladies of Flawsome are having another embarrassing moment at Tersei’s place. It starts when Ivie sees Poju gambling as usual and starts having a fit over getting her money back. Dolapo holds her back and asks rhetorically where she thinks she is going. Ifeyinwa speaks frankly that she is being stupid because everyone knows she won’t get nada from Poju. However, Ivie continues her fit.

“That’s stupid, very stupid and senseless,” Ifeyinwa rebukes her. Ivie replies she will hit her is she calls her stupid again. Dolapo is dying of embarrassment and suggests they leave before they spoil her image again. Ivie walks away, then Dolapo and Ramat caution Ifeyinwa for her harsh words. Instead of being apologetic, she unleashes her caustic tongue on them.
“Is there anything inaccurate about what I said?” she asks Dolapo. “Unlike you, I don’t butter things up. You need to stop acting like you love her more than we do.” They have an unreasonable argument, but it is clear Ifeyinwa is transferring aggression. It must be the stress from the corporate tussle with Timi and the fear of her father’s legacy going away.
Dolapo wonders aloud what Ifeyinwa’s problem is with her ‘buttering’ things up and trying to help her friends. Her reply is like that of someone with a bottled anger and thoughts. “What is wrong is when you try to play god in the life of us, mere mortals,” she says. “Let me tell you something, Dolapo, you suffer from acute egotism.”
Of course, she will apologise later because nothing warranted the barrage of rebukes Dolapo got. Meanwhile, Ivie has run to Tersei and she’s smiling sheepishly at this words; he does have a way with them sha, telling her the things she needs to hear in palatable manners. But Ivie, deep in her insecurity bag, feels she is only a momentary distraction for him, and he will eventually move on. We will see about that.
For our residential couple, Ramat and Uduak, things are not getting better. Uduak will miss her birthday because his mother fell and he has to take care of her. But the truth is, she didn’t fall. He is away doing something – it isn’t what you are thinking, it is worse. Watch Flawsome episode 11 on Showmax.
