Five reasons to watch reality's saltiest Housewives
Salt Lake City’s Housewives came to us relatively late, as the tenth franchise. But their latest season has generated enough drama to fill their three reunion episodes to overflowing with accusations, recriminations and questions about a black eye. If that’s not enough to lure you in, how about meme machine Mary Crosby accusing Whitney of calling her “a pornography”.
Still no? Sit back as we spread the good word about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City in five must-see moments.
Watch The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4. 3 new episodes each Thursday.
Monica gets salty

Angie is bringing a new housewife into the fold this season: Monica Garcia, who used to be the personal assistant to Jen Shah, the very same former Salt Lake City housewife who’s been in prison since 2022 for criminal conspiracy and fraud relating to a telemarketing scheme. Monica was even a witness at Jen’s trial, so consider her a professional spiller of scorching hot tea. When she gets bored at the other women’s weak confessions during a game in episode five, she reveals that she had an 18-month affair with her brother-in-law. That’s just her warming up.
No gift bag for Angie
Meredith invites the women on a trip to Palm Springs, pointedly excluding Angie. But Whitney knows that Housewives fans starve if we don’t get drama for dinner, so she generously invites Angie anyway. And during the trip, Angie’s going to find out at least one of the reasons that Meredith has been icing her out. Not only has Meredith not packed a gift bag for Angie (horrors), but rumour has it that Meredith has been caught gossiping that Angie’s husband Shawn Trujillo, the hairstylist and gym thirst trap pic poster, is gay. As Whitney quips, “Every time Meredith feels wronged, it’s like, a rumour gets wings.” But there’s more to this rumour than meets the eye, as Meredith’s own son Brooks became the first openly gay child of any Housewives star when her family joined the show in 2020.
Trixie Mattel!
RuPaul’s Drag Race fans, not only is Trixie besties with Lisa Vanderpump (RHOBH), she’s adding a new Housewife scalp to her belt in Episode 4 when Whitney tries to get the others hyped to participate in a drag event in Palm Springs at the adorable Trixie Motel. Hilariously, Mary Crosby is piqued because Trixie’s champagne selection is not posh enough. And expect the full book of lamentations after Lisa loses her $60,000 ring in the airport bathroom. “I’m surrounded by pink flamingos, pool floaties, extensions, fake lashes and big lips. Oh, wait. Those are just my friends. But I’m assuming there are drag queens somewhere in the vicinity,” muses Heather, who crowns a night out in this episode by drunkenly hurling in the hotel shuttle.
Bad Mormon
Lisa reveals that her son Jack is going on his first Mormon mission and even throws a Mormon Mission Reveal Party (which we did not know was a thing) for him in Episode 8. The 19-year-old gets an edible suitcase and the title Elder Barlow. Lisa’s a little worried because unlike Heather Gay, Jack hasn’t felt his mission calling him to the South of France. His mom is already strategising in case he gets held up at gunpoint.
And did you know Heather could write? Anyway, in Episode 5 she discusses the impact of her memoir, Bad Mormon, with her daughters (who’re still being bullied over it), and she has a new book signing coming in Episode 10. Brace yourself, because Lisa is going to sing her hit single, Awaya in a Manger, at the event. Would we lie to you? She also raps. Once Heather’s friends (reluctantly) start reading Bad Mormon, there’s heck to pay. We’ll even see Whitney attack her cousin Heather over it in Episode 15 when she realises that Heather wrote all about the boudoir photoshoot that Whitney did for her husband back in 2017.
Bermuda Birthday
All the ladies go to Bermuda in Episodes 13-16, to celebrate Monica’s birthday. But Monica gets some bad news as a birthday present. And Heather gets a phone call that fits right in with the disaster theme of a Bermuda Triangle dinner. We’ll just have to wait till the reunion for Heather to finally reveal who gave her a black eye, because she’s too busy serving the real dish of the night. In front of everyone, Heather singles out one of the Housewives and exposes them as the writer (or one of the writers) behind Instagram account Reality Von Tease. One of the ladies at the table has betrayed them all and cyberbullied them online for four years. Who? Catch the episode. Heather does not pussyfoot around with this juicy news.
PS: if you love an immersive Housewives experience, hunt down Mary Crosby’s appearance on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens (with fellow guest Ziwe), which came out after Episode 6. Her answer to Andy asking her why she wanted to come back to Housewives after skipping out on the Season 2 reunion episodes will have you rolling.

We’re eagerly awaiting Housewives across the franchises to assemble for the launch of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip – South Africa S1, coming soon to Showmax. But there’s a full wardrobe of Housewives on Showmax, and plenty for a RHOSalt Lake City girl to enjoy.
The table is set for MaBlerh to host the RHODurban S4 reunion on 15 and 22 May 2024. Until then, if you’ve never dived in before and you’re a Salt Lake City Heather stan, you’re going to love Durban’s LaConco for her wit and quotes like, “You cannot say you’ve never heard of Nonkanyiso Conco. You would be lying, if not uJesu angabuya nge skateboard (Jesus would return on a skateboard).”
The Real Housewives of Nairobi
With RHONairobi S2 launching on Friday, 10 May, the drama has never been fresher. If you’ve never heard elegant Dr C (Catherine Masitsa) purr about shops closing for her so that she can browse in peace, or critiquing her fellow Housewives' constant drinking, you have a treat in store. She is the Queen Mother. The closest thing Salt Lake City has is Meredith Marks, the woman who knows her own worth, and that is, at the very least, a hotel room with its own bathtub, dang it.
The Real Housewives of Johannesburg
If you’re deep into the Jen Shah drama, might we recommend this series as there’s loads of behind the scenes legal hooha to dig into surrounding the arrest of Housewife Tarina Patel’s husband, Iqbal Sharma, and his role in South Africa’s most notorious state capture court case.
Eeny meeny money mo. Which Salt Lake City Housewife just brought a dangerously divisive person into the group, like a snake in her bosom? Watch this season and you’ll soon realise that Salt Lake City’s Angie has something in common with Faith Morrey, who introduced Dr Rommel Asagwara into the mix.
Hmm, who can match the foot-in-mouth energy of Salt Lake City’s Whitney, a woman who tries, this season, to train Lisa to be less dululu. We need a sweetheart on a hopeless mission here, and that’s a match for Abuja’s Comfort, who’s rather more successful when she tries to do the right thing.
Die Real Housewives van Pretoria
If you live for church lady drama from the likes of Salt Lake City’s Lisa, you can’t go wrong with this franchise, which includes the outspoken mega-church pastor Marié Bosman. And Lisa might vibe with the singer and proud mom on the cast, Talana Vuren-Kuhn.
Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande
If, like Mary Crosby, you turn your nose up when an establishment doesn’t serve 2003 Dom Perignon, you belong with the snooty Stellenbosch squad in South Africa’s Western Cape Winelands. Enough said.
