The Real Housewives of Durban Season 3 Reunion Part 2
One thing about MaBlerh as a host? He will leave no stone unturned! The media personality came through with the heat in the second part of The Real Housewives of Durban Reunion and made sure that every single cast member told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Jojo’s biggest regret
One of the most talked-about things this season was the breakdown of Annie and Jojo’s friendship. The host asked Jojo what that relationship meant to her. “It meant a lot. I was extremely close with Annie. Believe me when I say the biggest regret I had is coming on this season and losing you,” she said.
While she valued the friendship, Jojo believes that outside influences had a lot to do with it ending. She gave Annie her long-awaited apology. “I honestly am sorry. I know that we can probably not go past it, we’re probably not gonna be friends because so much has happened, but I honestly, I am…”.
Annie thanked Jojo for the apology.
Infidelity and separation
MaBlerh moved on to another controversial subject: Annie’s marriage. The social media streets have been spreading rumours about infidelity within the union and Annie had to set the record straight. “I think since Nonku made the comment that all men cheat, they have been wanting infidelity to be part of my marriage. Then we had someone who then thought fit to create stories about my marriage and put them into blogs and whatever.” She made it clear that her household isn’t affected by this. “We know the truth. There is no baby on the way, there is literally nothing.”
While Annie’s relationship is still standing, Mbali and her partner are on a break. She wasn’t wearing her ring at the reunion, which was a huge giveaway. “I don’t have a ring … It’s a long story … We’re on a break,” Mbali said. MaBlerh said in isiZulu, “he paid lobola but now they’re on a break ... They’re separated, no longer engaged.”
Nonku and Slee own up to their mistakes
Now you know the reunion wasn’t going to end without Nonku and Slee’s friendship drama being addressed. When the season started, the ladies were on good terms. However, things had gone sour by the time the last episode aired. During the reunion, Nonku shared how she met Slee and how their children ended up becoming friends. Nonku is the one who convinced Slee to join the show.
How did they go from liking each other, to almost beating each other up? “I think for me more than anything what caught me off guard is the things that happened outside of this friendship group being brought within this friendship group,” Slee said. She added: “I understand there were certain things that she was unhappy about when it comes to me but it’s things that I probably would have preferred that she and I have a discussion about them outside this group because these people don’t know me.” She said Nonku’s actions felt premeditated.
She was also hurt by the fact that Nonku shared things she had told her in confidence, and also told people that she’s broke and borrows people’s clothes. Nonku explained that she watched the show and was “cringing” and felt ashamed when she saw how she behaved towards Slee.
“Slee, I want to take this opportunity and apologise from the bottom of my heart. What I said to Mbali, I said it out of anger,” Nonku said. Slee accepted the apology.
Where are the receipts?
Although there was peace after that conversation, MaBlerh didn’t forget Sorisha’s promise to bring receipts about Nonku owing people money. But this didn’t happen because Sorisha shared: “I don’t feel like I should add any gasoline to this fire. I don’t know how you feel about that, Slee?” Slee responded: “I’d love for us to leave it at that because Nonku has acknowledged that she realises and she understands why I felt that way and it’s okay.”
At first, Nonku wanted Sorisha to bring the receipts because she wanted to protect her reputation. But she decided to let it go after much convincing from the host and her co-stars. Slee also apologised to Nonku for being violent towards her.
At the end, MaBlerh reminded all the ladies of who they are and showed clips of them in happier times. He hopes that they can find healing.
