The Real Housewives of Lagos episode 9: Living a soft life, serving killer fashion
After two weeks of back-to-back gbas gbos, this week the ladies of The Real Housewives of Lagos lay down their swords, as they live their best baby girl lives.
From an evening of Paint and Sip to a trip to Dubai, the ladies lead a soft life while also serving us with some killer fashion.
Here’s all that went down on episode 9 of The Real Housewives of Lagos.
Paint, sip, and some light-hearted gossip

Chioma, Mariam, and Toyin meet up for an evening of Paint and Sip, and it’s not long before the ladies recount the events from their last meeting - Laura and Carolyna’s fight.
Chioma wants to know what the ladies made of the mediation session but Toyin is not having it with her.
“You that sat down there looking plastic. I couldn’t even read your expression," Toyin fires at Chioma.
This was clearly not the response she was expecting, so Chioma defends her stance on refusing to get involved in the quarrel between Carolyna and Laura, stating that the fight was Carolyna’s. Mariam also seizes the moment to address Toyin’s fight with Laura during her dinner party. Still bitter from the encounter, Toyin says, “I don’t like disrespect, I don’t like when you feel like you want to use me to shine. You can’t use me to shine, then in bad times you need me, don’t do that, it’s bulls**t."
Phew.
Who's the boss?
Just when we think the ladies will move on from the drama, Toyin and Chioma go on an ego trip. Toyin accuses Chioma of purposely coming late so she can make a grand entrance while Chioma insists that she’ll always make an entrance regardless of whether she’s early or late.
“You act like it’s a competition,” Toyin throws at Chioma. But Chioma isn’t backing down either as she maintains that she’s a “very confident person and I’m confident enough to know that I stand out all the time.”
Na wa!
In the end. though, it’s all love and light as Chioma says she thinks they’ve all gotten to know each other better and can only move on from there.
Priscilla’s 21st birthday party

Iyabo’s daughter Priscilla has turned 21 and as the faaji mistress aunty Iyabo is, she has thrown a huge party for her baby girl.
The ladies all turn up for the mother and daughter in true The Real Housewives of Lagos style, and with the crew together again after the chaos from the last time they were in the same space, we’re watching with bated breath. But, mercifully, all goes well.
Laura avoids Carolyna like the plague, and leaves just as soon she’s exchanged pleasantries with everyone and made enough polite chit-chat. Iyabo isn’t sorry to see her go, stating in her diary session that “as usual Laura must always bring drama”.
Chioma arrives late, as per usual, and goes straight on to exchange pleasantries and present her gift to the birthday girl. They do their two-step dance and all the ladies settle in to have a good time.
All is well that ends well.
Toyin visits her step-father, the legendary Sir Shina Peters

Was your party even a party in the 90s if Sir Shina Peters’ Afro Juju wasn’t played? We were pleasantly surprised to see the music legend on our screen, and even more so to learn that he’s Toyin’s step-father.
Toyin has reached out to her step-dad so he can do a song with her husband, Segun Wealth aka The Unknown, and in true musical genius style, Shina Peters whips up a groovy song that they go on to record.
Boss babes making money … and spilling some tea

This week we see Carolyna in her workplace as she goes tile shopping for a prospective client. She’s soon joined by Chioma, and the ladies talk about going into business together, with Chioma offering to draw up the agreement via her legal firm.
Soon enough the conversation turns to Carolyna’s fight with Laura. Chioma expresses her shock that things turned physical but Carolyna is not surprised that things got so out of hand. “Sometimes you need to let a mad person know that where their madness stops is where mine begins."
Ghen ghen.
Meanwhile, Chioma confronts Carolyna for bringing up the conversation she and Laura had in confidence, which she shared with Carolyna. According to Chioma, Laura had told Chioma she would rather not fight with Iyabo and Toyin because it wouldn’t be a good look for her brand.
In her diary session, Chioma said: “She was happy the fight was with me and not Iyabo and Toyin whom she referred to as razz and local and didn’t want to mix with their brand because it wasn’t a good look for her.”
Wahala for who no get brand o.
Chioma had shared the conversation with Carolyna, who then brought it up during her fight with Laura. Carolyna apologises for putting Chioma on the spot by revealing this to Laura, even as she shares that she has a feeling “there’s a huge fight coming”.
Yepa!
Toyin’s cultural party

Toyin is hosting the ladies to a Cultural Event and media personality Denrele is in the building.
The ladies are treated to an entrance worthy of royalty, with talking drummers and people chanting each housewife’s oriki. Though there’s still some tension between Carolyna and Laura, the ladies manage to have a good time and play a game.
Toyin announces to the ladies that she will be taking them on a trip to Dubai to celebrate her 40th birthday, much to everyone's excitement.
Laura leaves the party early, as per usual, and the ladies settle in for the turn-up. Gongo Aso singer 9ice makes an appearance, driving the ladies crazy.
In all, a good time was had and no gbas gbos was given.
Praise be!
Dubai, The Real Housewives of Lagos are in the building!

The ladies arrive in Dubai but things are starting on a somewhat shaky note - Carolyna cannot find her $43 000 bracelet, which was a Valentine’s Day gift from her boyfriend.
Gbese.
Laura is also complaining that she’s feeling sick. Added to the fact that Toyin is giving her an attitude, we’re curious as to how things will play out.
Meanwhile, Mariam and Toyin are already partying it up in the car on the way from the airport.
On arrival at the villa, Iyabo joins the ladies and Carolyna proceeds to tell her about the missing bracelet. Expressing her concern, Iyabo asks if the bracelet is “from the current man or the ex?”.
Wahala be like bicycle.
Will the ladies be able to put aside their differences and have a good time in Dubai? Follow the drama on The Real Housewives of Lagos. All episodes, including the two-part reunion, are now streaming.
