Law, Love and Betrayal episode 7 recap: A violent eviction
Episode 7 of Law, Love and Betrayal brings an emotional mix of legal battles and personal revelations, as Ayanda and James tackle an eviction case, and Gatsha finally confronts the truth about Gugu. Here’s what went down.
Ayanda and James take on an eviction case

Ayanda and James dive into an eviction case between a single mother, Sarah Phiri, and her landlord, Mr Mthembu, who violently assaulted her during her eviction. As the trial begins, James discovers that this isn’t Mthembu’s first offence, which could turn the case in Sarah’s favour.
Gatsha sends Sam on a mission

Following Gugu’s shock confession that she’s Gatsha’s daughter, he instructs Sam to dig into her background - off the books. He wants every detail about her family and upbringing. Sam is suspicious, sensing there’s more to Gatsha’s sudden interest in Gugu.
Sam’s investigation

Sam’s first stop is Gugu’s home, where her grandfather unknowingly provides Sam with key information about Gugu’s late mother and her absent father, who was - and still is - a lawyer. He reports back to Gatsha, confirming the likelihood that Gugu is his daughter. The weight of the revelation hits Gatsha hard, but how will he react?
The case takes a turn

In court, Sarah’s testimony takes a hit when Mthembu’s legal team accuses her of stealing his gun and threatening him. The truth? Sarah did take the gun - but never used it to threaten him. Despite the setback, Ayanda and James flip the case and win when they expose that Mthembu was illegally housing an undocumented tenant and never reported his stolen, unlicensed firearm.
Father-daughter heart-to-heart

In an emotional confrontation, Gatsha asks Gugu why she waited so long to come forward. She explains that she promised her mother she wouldn’t seek him out. The two finally open up to each other, and Gatsha apologises, but Gugu’s pain runs deep. Though the DNA results are in, Gatsha doesn’t need to see them. He already knows - by her talent, character, and spirit - that Gugu is his daughter.
It’s a tearjerker ending that leaves us eager for what comes next - especially Ayanda’s reaction when she inevitably learns the truth about Gugu! Stay tuned for more drama and revelations next week on Law, Love and Betrayal, only on Showmax.
