The Buzz S9 episode 7: Biggie's parrot and Toke's surprise visit
“This week, the housemates had a firsthand experience of what it felt like to be in Biggie’s house as individuals and not as a pair,” Toke Makinwa said as she introduced episode 7 of The Buzz, the exclusive BBNaija talk show on Showmax.
This episode featured filmmaker and actress Kemi Ikuseedun, AKA Mummy Wa, and Chimmiee HQ, a well-known brand influencer and digital marketer, as guests. The trio dissected the latest drama in the Big Brother house, starting with clips of intense sibling rivalry between Onyeka and Chizoba, followed by the Housemates’ nominations for the week’s evictions.
Onyeka and Chizoba: sibling rivalry intensifies

Toke asked whether dissolving the pairs had brought the rivalry to light or if the Housemates were simply overreacting. Chimmiee HQ didn’t hold back as she speculated, “I think there is more to this than meets the eye. This started at home; it’s too deep!” Kemi predicted more conflict as the rivalry grew. Both agreed the twins’ competition predated their time in the House. Toke asked who they thought started the fights, and opinions were divided on who was responsible, but the consensus was that neither listened to the other.
Toke chimed in, noting that the twins mentioned their mother had warned them not to bring their fights into the House, contrary to what they ended up doing. Meanwhile, Kemi predicted that the rivalry would cause more problems in the House, and not just for Onyeka and Chizoba.
The parrot: alliance breaker or drama stirrer?

The conversation turned to the introduction of the notorious parrot, which had been eavesdropping and leaking Housemates' secrets. Kemi spoke about how this could potentially keep the Housemates on edge for the rest of the show, being conscious of what they say for fear of the parrot. Chimmiee HQ confidently joked that if it were her secret conversations being exposed, she would “own it with my full chest!” Toke predicted more confrontations, stating that this would keep everyone on edge in the House. She joked about how the parrot would spark more gbas gbos, and Kemi agreed, noting that some Housemates might now deliberately provoke drama knowing the parrot was listening.
The ballot and evictions

The new ballot system for evictions added more tension in the House following the dissolution of the pairs, with Victoria and Onyeka at the centre of it. Chimmiee HQ felt Onyeka’s nomination of Victoria was a power move. Kemi, however, was surprised by Double Kay’s nomination, though she favoured Wanni and Handi, describing them as "just so much fun." Chimmiee HQ predicted that Kellyrae from the Double Kay couple might be at risk, though she acknowledged it’s hard to predict the offline voters’ preferences.
Lovebirds and ships: genuine or strategy?
The episode went behind the scenes, showing the Housemates' interactions during their latest pool party. The episode also highlighted budding relationships, including Ben and Chizoba’s awkward connection. Toke quipped, “It’s giving, ‘we’re stuck in this because the people we really want don’t want us.’” Chimmiee added, “They’ve been in a relationship for five weeks and haven’t even had a proper kiss!” Toke wondered if the lack of chemistry was due to a lack of attraction, and Kemi agreed, saying neither Ben nor Chizoba seemed into each other. Meanwhile, Chizoba seemed to have a softer spot for Ocee, one of the Mbadiwe twins.
The trio also discussed Topher’s unrequited interest in Anita, which led to a discussion about how the other relationships in the House were evolving, especially the married couples, Kassia and Kellyrae, whose marriage might be threatened if one of the couples was evicted.. The trio speculated that if Kassia were evicted, Kellyrae might shift his attention to Wanni.
Toke’s surprise visit to the BBNaija house
The episode concluded with a surprise visit as Toke popped into the Big Brother House, which left the Housemates in a mixture of surprise and ecstasy, especially after interacting with just one another for weeks. During her visit, she advised the Housemates and reminded them to seize the opportunity. She told them, “This platform is giving you guys an edge. What I’ll say is, run with it.” Before wrapping up her short visit, Toke couldn’t help but comment on Shaun’s game-playing tactics. She warned Wanni, “Don’t forget it’s a competition. There’s only one winner.” Toke, who has been known to fawn over Shaun in past episodes of BBNaija: The Buzz, when presented with face-to-face time with him cheekily said to him, “When you leave, call me!”
