Latest news:
Ruben Amorim reportedly smashed a television in the Old Trafford dressing room in a furious rant at his squad after Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat against Brighton last Sunday.
The result was a seventh defeat in 15 games for Amorim, who succeeded Erik ten Hag in November, and a fourth reverse in the side’s past five home Premier League games.
Amorim, who afterwards labelled his side “the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United”, is reported to have been gesticulating angrily in the home dressing room when he damaged the television, which is used for pre‑match tactics and needed repair in time for the Europa League game against Rangers on Thursday.

Manager: Ruben Amorim
Following the sacking of Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United swiftly announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as Head Coach of the men’s first team.
Amorim will join until June 2027 with a club option of an additional year, once he has fulfilled his obligations to his current club. He will join Manchester United on Monday 11 November.
Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly rated young coaches in European football. Highly decorated as both a player and coach, his titles include winning the Primeira Liga twice in Portugal with Sporting CP; the first of which was the club’s first title in 19 years.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue to take charge of the team until Ruben joins.
