Nigerian Idol S9 to stream on Showmax this April
Good news for music lovers! Season 9 of the popular reality TV singing competition Nigerian Idol will be available to stream on Showmax from Monday, 22 April 2024, a day after it premieres on Africa Magic channels.
The excitement continues on Nigerian Idol Extra, special bonus content featuring a compilation of the most memorable and entertaining moments from the auditions, which will also be available to stream daily. Fans can sign up to Showmax for N1 200 for a mobile-only plan to follow this season’s performances.
Nigerian Idol Season 9, with the theme “Let your dreams take flight”, is set to take audiences on a musical journey with three new judges: the sensational Omawumi, the soul-stringing Ric Hassani and legendary hip-hop artiste 9ice. Award-winning media personality IK Osakioduwa, returns as host for this season.
Since its return in 2021, the singing competition has unearthed some of the best musical talents in the country. Kingdom Kroseide, winner of Season 6, whose debut single Shey You Go Dey featured in Season 1 of Showmax’s hit drama series Flawsome; and Progress Chukwuyem and Victory Gbakara, winners of Seasons 7 and 8 respectively, have launched and continue to excel in their musical careers from the competition.
