Soft Life Season 1 opens with secrets, scandals and sacrifices
Soft Life has officially landed! The latest must-watch drama from Showmax gives you a glimpse into the secretive world of high-society companionship when 23-year-old Owami’s life takes a dramatic turn and she’s forced to make impossible choices to pay for her mother’s mounting medical bills. Here’s what went down in the first three episodes.
A birthday celebration turns sour
Owami’s 23rd birthday begins on a high note: a cake from her mom MaGqoji, hugs from her little sister Buhle, and a heartfelt gift from her best friend Minnie. But joy quickly turns to dread when the landlord shows up demanding overdue rent.
Time is running out for Mamzo

Against her doctor’s advice, Mamzo reopens her food stall in Tembisa to help make ends meet, but the stress proves too much. She collapses and is rushed to the hospital, where devastating news awaits: her heart is failing, and she needs bypass surgery. Unfortunately, she’s on a waiting list that could take six months - a timeline her cardiologist fears she won’t survive.
A life-changing encounter

Owami juggles two jobs to make ends meet when fate intervenes. She catches the attention of Lady T at a restaurant. Lady T, the recruiter for NubiaBlaq - a high-end escort agency - sees potential in Owami. A staggering R4 000 tip seals the deal, and fate begins to shift.
Welcome to NubiaBlaq

Zinhle, another NubiaBlaq girl, lures Owami to a glamorous party, where she quickly catches the eye of smooth-talking Fumani, an important client. Owami is announced as NubiaBlaq’s newest “sales and promotions” girl, without realising the depth of the trap she’s walked into.
A reality check

Reality hits with Owami’s first official booking. Naively believing she’s giving a presentation to convince Fumani to “invest in NubiaBlaq”, she’s shocked when he demands she give him a massage. The encounter leaves her shaken, but the money she’s earned - R40 000 - is undeniable.
Secrets in love

Things are about to get complicated! Owami’s boyfriend, Siviwe, remains blissfully unaware of her double life. Struggling to protect their love, he battles his mother’s disdain for Owami, whom she labels a “gold digger.” Will Owami dive deeper into this glamorous, but dangerous world? How long can she keep her secret?
