The Real Housewives of Durban S3: Slee on her hopes to rebuild her life
The only thing Slindile Wendy Ndlovu (also known as Slee) wants is a chance to rewrite her story. The mother of two, who’s also making her own money, joined Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Durban as a way of rebuilding her life. After coming out of a six-year relationship that left her heartbroken, Slee realised that she wasted a lot of her time and energy.
“I gave it my all so when it didn’t work out I thought, why not try this. I think for me I felt it’s a nice opportunity for me to start over, to rebuild, myself as an individual and as a single mom,” she said.
Through the show, Slee's hoping to show that women can always start over and rebuild their lives after facing bumps along the way. She explained: “To just basically reintroduce myself and to show that whatever that relationship did to me, it did not take anything from me. I’m still the same person. In actual fact, I’m back wanting more.”
If you’re wondering what Slee is all about, she made it clear that she’s a mother before anything else: “My role as a mother defines me.”
While she shared that there will be a bit of drama around her on Season 3 of the reality show, she also added that people will appreciate the fact that she stands for her truth. “If it does not make sense to me, I call it out. If the energy doesn’t serve me, I exit the building.”
So, what kind of people will be drawn to Slee? “An average mom is gonna love Slee because she’s relatable, she’s vulnerable and allows herself to share her experiences,” Slee said. Basically, what you see is what you get. She doesn’t only want to connect with viewers but is also hoping to make friends on the show. Slee already has her eye on Sorisha.
“It’s always been Sorisha for me because I love how level-headed she is in the midst of conflict and everything that happens around her. She remains level-headed…” She added that she likes being around people who ground her and believes that every relationship should make sense. Slee is of the view that friends should be able to build each other up.
Will Sorisha let Slee into her world? We’ll have to wait and see. Watch new episodes of The Real Housewives of Durban every Wednesday on Showmax.
