Wura episodes 13-16 recap: “I don’t believe Wura killed Baami”
In Wura episodes 13-16, Tumi still has reservations about her brother’s insistence that Wura Adeleke killed their father. “The fact that Baami went to Ife does not mean that Wura killed him,” she argues in this week’s first episode. “Maybe he went to the river to calm down instead of fighting with her. Yes, I am sure that’s what happened; otherwise, she would have said something.”

Her naivety dumbfounds her elder brother, who now thinks she is refusing to accept the bitter truth. He makes several convincing arguments, especially that their father has lived his entire life in Iperindo and swum in the same river they say he drowned in as a boy.
Tumi’s tone and belief have changed by the week’s final episode. She now sees Wura for what she is, but it took the last words of a dying man.
Pa Kuti’s wife visits Wura
Mide and Tumi argue throughout the week. Tumi wants him to drop the accusations. He says he isn’t blinded by Wura’s riches, kindness and fake smile, then explains how a miner who stole a piece of gold disappeared. As they argue one afternoon, their mum comes in.
“Who did Wura kill?” she asks in Yoruba. When they explain the letter their father left behind, she decides to visit Mrs. Adeleke. “There is only one way to get answers,” she tells her kids. “I will go to Wura and ask her face-to-face. I will know if she is lying.” Mothers always know these things, but then Wura is masterfully deceitful.
Femi goes to the police
Femi is losing his fight against Wura. She isn’t succumbing to his blackmail; instead, she is trying to kill him. He has escaped twice and doesn’t want to risk it anymore. He goes to the police officer investigating Pa Kuti’s death and tells him Wura is responsible.
Unfortunately, this particular officer is on her payroll, and he instead warns her that someone is getting close. This shows Femi’s game is ending. Wura won’t give in to his blackmail and the police won’t help him. He doesn’t have any more moves to make.
Sins of the mother
While Pa Kuti’s household tries to figure out if Wura killed their father, she’s orchestrating the death of another man. Femi has gotten greedier and Wura has had enough. Jeje has a big plan. They will deliver a briefcase to Femi, but instead of the millions of Naira he requested, it will be a bomb. It is literally bringing a bomb to a fistfight, and Wura isn’t enthusiastic about it but eventually agrees to the plan.
Unfortunately, Wura’s son, Lolu, picks up the briefcase. An outcome they didn’t envisage. She hurries home, screaming and looking for him. Lolu isn’t picking up his phone; she is calling him to warn him, but he isn’t. She beckons on her husband to find him using the police system. He asks, “just because he isn’t picking his call?”
Later, it was announced two unidentified bodies were found in the debris of an explosion. Did Wura just burn her son and his lover to death? Watch new episodes of Wura on Showmax, Mondays to Thursdays.
