Meanwhile, the rivalry between Qhawe and Mqhele worsens. Episodes 13-15 of The Wife Season 2 bring more drama to get everyone talking.

Let’s break down what happened this week.

Episode 13 – The Commissioner is no more

Minus one problem for the Zulu brothers

Nkosana tells his brothers that the Commissioner is dead. The news comes as a great surprise as they believe that this means he won’t be a problem in their family anymore. Remember, the Commissioner was hellbent on avenging the death of his wife, who was killed by Mandisa. Adding salt to the wound, the Zulu brothers then fed the body to pigs.

However, not all their problems have been fixed – Nkosana still needs to figure out how to get Mqoqi out of jail. Big brother must be having a hard time sleeping with all these obstacles in his way.

Back at Hlomu’s work, Lux wants Hlomu to look into the case regarding the Commissioner’s death.

Episode 14 – Guilt-ridden Zandile comes clean to Nkosana

Nkosana can’t seem to catch a break. When he tries to solve one problem, another issue comes up – threatening to destroy everything he and his brothers have worked hard for.

Zandile finally confesses

This comes after Mqoqi is stopped by cops while commuting passengers from Joburg to Durban. Little does Mqoqi know that he is about to be arrested for a crime he knows nothing about. And it’s all thanks to Zandile and Mandisa, who planted a bag full of drugs under the taxi he was driving.

Upon hearing about Mqoqi’s arrest, Nkosana is upset and frustrated. He rebukes his brothers for meddling in drug business. Zandile tells her bestie Mandisa they should come clean to Nkosana about everything.

“It was a mistake. I didn’t mean for it to happen. I didn’t want you to hear from other people. I want you to hear it from me. You know, Mqoqi wasn’t supposed to drive Jabu’s taxi. We didn’t think the taxi would be stopped and searched,” says Zandile. She further confesses that it’s Buli who roped her and Mandisa into this mess.

The Majola brothers strike again

Garage owner begs for mercy

Back at the taxi rank, the Majolas together with the other furious taxi drivers are all up in arms after a few taxis were broken into and set alight by Qhawe.

The Majolas confront and hold two garage owners, who they believe have the answers they seek, hostage. The infuriated siblings threaten to burn down the filling station and kill if they aren’t told the truth about how their taxis got vandalised while parked at the garage owners’ premises. The owners deny knowing anything about the situation until guns are pointed at them. Before the taxi drivers proceed to burn the filling station, one of the garage owners starts singing like a canary.

What follows is chaos. A shoot-out at the taxi rank breaks and almost claims the lives of two members of the Zulu family.

Episode 15 – Qhawe and Mqhele square up

Nkosana tells the family that Nqoba’s situation is a lot better and he’s recovering. Nqoba got shot during the chaos that ensued at the taxi rank. Hlomu could’ve easily been a victim too, as she was also at the rank, but thankfully, Mqhele arrived right on time to save her from the hail of bullets.

Angered at the thought of how he could’ve lost Hlomu, Mqhele directs his anger towards Qhawe. He believes that Qhawe’s actions are the main reason why they’ve found themselves in this mess. Mqhele wastes no time in throwing jabs at his brother.

Qhawe retaliates, and his response to Mqhele’s aggression shocks the entire family.

“I’m not your wife whom you always beat up,” says Qhawe.

Whose baby is it?

Things get more tricky when Qhawe drops a bomb, mentioning in front of the entire family that he slept with his brother’s wife, Hlomu.

The revelation shocks everyone and begs the question – is this the end of the brotherhood?
