This season introduces a bold and dynamic cast of women who aren’t afraid to show their vulnerability. Ansu Viljoen, Crystal Van Der Burgh, Johandri Johnson, Louise Volschenk, and Tessa Tulles bring high-stakes events, luxurious living, and must-see drama to the screen.
We caught up with Louise, who gave us the scoop on her Mommy Club journey and what fans can expect this season.
What inspired you to join The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad?
I’ve always believed that motherhood is about more than just routines and responsibilities; it’s about embracing the joy, humour, and every little moment in between. When the opportunity to join The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad came along, I saw it as the perfect chance to share my journey as a mom, wife, and businesswoman in a way that’s both real and relatable. And let’s face it, every show needs a bit of comedic relief, so I was more than happy to bring that to the table!
How does being on The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad compare to watching the show as a viewer?
Watching a reality show is one thing but actually living it is a whole different experience! As a viewer, you get a snapshot of our lives but being part of it means feeling every emotion – the laughter, the challenges, the chaos, and those beautiful moments you don’t always see. Plus, let’s be real, things aren’t always as glamorous behind the scenes!
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned from your experience on the show?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that balance is a continuous journey. As a mom, wife, and entrepreneur, I’ve realised you can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking time for myself isn’t selfish – it’s essential. And of course, I’ve learned that a little bit of humour can get you through almost anything! If I thought I was busy before the show, I had no idea just how much busier my life would become, but somehow, I still manage it all. It’s all about proper planning and time management, and I think I’ve got that down to an art!
Who do you feel most connected to among the mommies on your show, and why?
I feel closest to Tessa. We both run our own businesses, are no-nonsense moms, and really value living a balanced life. We share a love for comfort food and wine – she’s definitely my kind of person! Having someone who understands the delicate juggle between career, family, and personal time makes this experience even more special for me.
Is there anyone in the group you’ve had a particularly challenging relationship with? How do you navigate that?
Where there are strong personalities, there’s bound to be some friction! I try to handle any challenges with humour and a calm approach. At the end of the day, we’re all moms doing our best, and I always try to keep that perspective, even when things get heated.
What can fans expect to see from you this season? Any surprises or personal moments you're excited to share?
There’s definitely plenty to look forward to! From high-fashion moments to the messy, behind-the-scenes chaos of motherhood, I’ll be bringing my usual mix of fun and authenticity. I might even surprise you with a few glimpses into my business and personal life – so stay tuned!
When conflict arises on the show, how do you personally approach resolving it, and what have you learned from those moments?
I’ve always believed that laughter is the best way to diffuse tension but when that doesn’t work, I opt for honest, open conversations and aim to keep things drama-free. I’ve learned that not every battle is worth fighting and, sometimes, it’s best to let people be who they are.
How has the public reacted to your participation in the show? Has it been what you expected or have there been any surprises?
I’ve been blown away by the support I’ve received – it’s made me feel even more confident about what’s to come. However, I’ve also encountered some really negative comments, particularly from Afrikaans women, who I thought would be excited about this show. The criticism has been harsh, with people labeling us as lazy, pretty, rich housewives – which couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve built a successful business on my own while running my household and raising my children, without the help of nannies or au pairs, and I still manage to take care of my appearance. I think some of the internet trolls will be eating their words once they see just what the five of us are really capable of in our everyday lives.
Why do you think viewers should tune into The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad this season?
Because it’s real, relatable, and filled with unforgettable moments! You’ll witness the ups and downs of motherhood, marriage, and business – but with plenty of glamour, laughter, and a dash of drama along the way. If you love authenticity, a bit of sparkle, and some juicy moments, this is the season you won’t want to miss!
