We recently sat down with Ansu, who gave us the inside scoop on the show, her relationships with the ladies, and all the drama viewers can expect.

How was your experience filming the show?

Filming the show was truly a rollercoaster of emotions. There were days filled with laughter and special moments, but also tough days that tested my strength. It was a challenging time for both me and my family, but ultimately, it brought us closer together. We’ve learned to cherish our time as a family even more.

Did you form any genuine connections with the other moms?

The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad on Showmax

Crystal has been one of my best friends for years, and I am incredibly grateful for that. As for the others, I initially saw the potential for strong connections, particularly with Johandri, since we shared common interests. However, the group dynamic often led to misunderstandings, and for me, trust is the foundation of any relationship. Looking back, I’ve realised that not everyone is meant to be in your inner circle, and that’s perfectly okay.

Were there any people in the group you didn’t connect with?

Certain group dynamics made it difficult for me to connect with some of the other moms. I believe in mutual respect and honesty in friendships, and when I began noticing patterns of disloyalty, I chose to keep my distance rather than forcing connections that didn’t align with my values.

Is there anything you wish you had done differently during filming?

If I could change anything, I would have trusted my instincts more and spoken up sooner about what was really happening. But at the same time, I believe everything happens for a reason. This experience reminded me that standing firm in my values, even when it’s hard, is always the right choice.

What was the most surprising thing you experienced while filming?

The biggest surprise was seeing how quickly people could turn on each other. It made me realise how rare true loyalty is. What disappointed me the most, however, was seeing moms shame other moms when they themselves know just how tough this journey can be. Instead of supporting each other, some chose to tear others down. I also found it disheartening how some women struggle to celebrate another person’s success, as if one person’s achievement takes away from their own. In my life, I prioritise friendships built on honesty, encouragement, and support, and this experience reinforced how important that is. I truly hope that, as women, we can begin uplifting each other and create a more positive space, not just for ourselves, but for everyone around us.

What did you learn about yourself during the filming process?

I’ve learned that no one is perfect, and that’s okay. But more importantly, I’ve realised just how strong-minded I am. No matter the circumstances, I stayed true to myself, my values, and what I believe in.

How did your family adjust to the filming schedule?

To be honest, they never really did. With two little ones under two, a husband running his own business, and also working as a locum vet, it was incredibly challenging for us as a family. But now, looking back, we appreciate our time together so much more. It reminded us of what truly matters.

Why should people tune in to watch the show?

The Mommy Club: Van Die Hoofstad is real. It’s raw. It’s not just about the glitz and glam - it’s about the ups and downs of parenthood, relationships, and life itself. Whether you’re a mom, a businesswoman, or someone navigating friendships and personal growth, there’s something here for everyone. It’s a journey worth watching!
