Empini Season 1 episodes 31-32 recap: Everybody needs a bodyguard
Things are heating up in Joburg as Zenzele faces new dangers and unexpected enemies. Khaya continues pulling strings from the background, pushing Zenzele to make bold moves, while Ndoni grapples with her suspicions. Here’s the latest Empini recap.
Khaya’s plan unfolds

Zenzele informs Khaya about the General’s surprise visit. Khaya warns him to stay alert — the General is a threat. He advises Zenze to upgrade his security and focus on Uhuru for now. Khaya also instructs Zenze to have Thobani arrange a meeting with Enoch, but not to win back the contract just yet.
Ndoni’s doubts

Ndoni, uncertain about Zenzele, confides in Madlopa. She feels that Zenze is hiding something, but she’s unsure what. Her instincts tell her to dig deeper, and she’s determined to find out the truth. In an effort to get closer to Zenze, she offers to help him with some physical training, starting in the boxing ring. Things get heated as the two spar with each other, catching Jabulani’s attention, who doesn’t like what he sees. The tension builds during shooting practice, especially when Ndoni starts asking probing questions about Khaya.
Zenzele is attacked

Zenzele’s life is on the line when he is followed and ambushed by two armed men. Luckily, his armoured vehicle saves him long enough for his bodyguard to arrive. Zenze’s new training pays off as he takes down one of the attackers. He narrowly escapes, but it’s clear that his enemies won’t stop easily. Zenzele loses his phone in the chaos and panics — it contains Khaya’s number, and nobody can know that Khaya is still alive. But he’s relieved when Ndoni reveals she had the phone all along. Did she look at it? Does she know Khaya’s secret?
The hit and the mystery

Who ordered the hit on Zenze? MPS struggles to track the vehicle used in the ambush, leaving them with a long list of suspects, including Winnie. Zenze refuses to believe she could be involved, but we know the truth: she’s wanted him gone from the start.
