The Real Housewives of Durban Season 3: Annie wants her apology

While conflict is always expected on the Real Housewives of Durban, this season seems to have taken it to a whole new level. There’s a big divide in the group and that has resulted in some of the ladies not even speaking to each other. Also, some friendships have ended and it doesn’t look like things will ever go back to normal for some of the stars.

This was clear when the Housewives took a trip to Knysna. What was supposed to be a time to relax and unwind turned into an opportunity for the ladies to get a few things off their chests.

Slee wants Nonku to explain herself

It started with Slee addressing Nonku about what she had said about her. According to the rumour mill, Slee is broke and has been borrowing some of Nonku’s stuff. Slee wanted to clear the air with Nonku and asked her: “Have I ever said I was rich? Or which of your clothes have I ever borrowed? I just need to understand why it got to that point.”

Nonku refused to answer and told Slee to ask the person who told her the news. “Slee, let me tell you something. I’ve gotten to a point where I’m done talking.” Nonku added that she and Slee were not friends so she can believe whatever she wants. “I don’t care. We’re not friends,” she added.

What is that "Mabusi vibe"?

Mbali is another person who wanted to iron things out with Nonku. A few weeks ago, Mbali heard that Nonku had labelled her as having “Mabusi vibes”. She wanted to know what that could mean and when the time came, Mbali confronted Nonku about it.

“Guys, I have something to address,” she said while the ladies were chilling together. “Nonku, I want you to tell me what is Mabusi vibes?” Nonku responded by saying. “I’m the one that came to you and I told you, confessed to you and I said to you before I knew you, ‘you give me that Mabusi vibe’.”

Mbali couldn’t remember that conversation.

Things got heated and Mbali confessed that she’d like to “beat her [Nonku] up”. Nonku refused to engage further. After hearing Mbali talking about getting physical with her, Nonku then revealed: "That’s the Mabusi vibe. You will beat me up? That’s what I meant.”

Will Annie get her apology?

The last confrontation was between Annie and Jojo. Their friendship got tainted after that trip to the Drakensburg that ended with Jojo leaving and sharing her intentions to leave the group. Annie felt disrespected by that entire incident and all she wanted was an apology from Jojo.

“I feel betrayed by you because when I came into your room on this alcohol whatever it is, I never insinuated that you are drunk, that you are an alcoholic. I didn’t even insinuate that you were drinking, I asked,” Annie told Jojo.

Jojo didn’t quite understand and asked Annie: “If I don’t like something am I not allowed to tell you?” While Jojo expressed her hurt about the incident, Annie was clear that that’s not what she meant. She wanted Jojo to take accountability about how she handled everything that evening.

“Stop being a victim. I’m talking about one matter and you’re busy running away again,” Annie said. Meanwhile, Jojo is under the impression that Annie’s actions led to her being “outcast” from the group. “You are not a nice person and that’s why we will never be friends,” Jojo told her.

Annie’s response was: “For two years you have been my friend and now you’re telling me we’ll never be friends. The reason we’re not gonna be friends is because you’re a manipulative person.”

The conversation didn’t end well and Jojo said: “I just have to accept that we were never meant for each other.”

Will the ladies be able to mend their friendship? Find out in the final episode of The Real Housewives of Durban Season 3, next Wednesday, 19 April 2023.
