Recapping The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice reunion part 2
The second part of the Mommy Club: Sugar and Spice reunion started on a high note. Neetasha addressed the ladies after feeling like they had been threatening about the fact that Naliyani would be coming for her at the reunion.
Mean girl energy

“For the last six weeks, all I’ve been hearing is ‘Naliyani is coming for you with her mean girl energy, she’s coming for you. Be prepared’.” She said she was warned to be prepared as Naliyani would go below the belt. Shahan, the reunion host, asked Abigail if she’s one of the people who spread this news. “I said to Neetasha, it’s obvious from the diary comments that there is some tension between you guys. Not just to me, to everybody watching.” She said she advised Neetasha to “control it” and “handle it”. “I’m sorry that it was misconstrued,” Abigail added.
Neetasha expressed that the whole thing was traumatic for her, because she felt betrayed by the other ladies. She asked her co-stars: “Did y’all not continuously also tell me when Naliyani comes for me ‘I’ll have your back’?” Resh explained: “But this was between you guys. I can’t interject.” While her intention was to stay until the filming had ended, Neetasha decided to leave the reunion. She walked out just as Asharia was talking about her complex relationship with Christina.
Unacceptable behaviour

Filming continued and Shahan asked the others about their feelings. They shared their disappointment, with Christina adding: “I feel as though Asharia was getting to a point where she was explaining something very sensitive. And I feel she could have at least, if she wanted to leave, waited for Asharia to finish her thought."
She finally got to finish her thought and at some point shared: “The problem here is, Christina lies so much, and she starts to believe these lies… You have lied in almost every episode.” She said she thought Christina would have looked at her behaviour on TV and would have grown up. Christina, on the other hand, didn’t understand how Asharia could have so much to say about her because she had claimed not to know her “from a bar of soap”.
“Whether you liked me, whether you knew me, whether you didn’t know me, whatever the case may be. You still went on in several diaries and you talked sh** about me,” Christina told Asharia. “Because I could not tolerate you. None of the ladies could tolerate you,” Asharia responded.
While there was confusion and misunderstanding in some instances, some of the ladies took great lessons from the show.
Lessons learned

Devina said the show opened up old wounds for her. “I joined the show because I wanted to use the platform to create awareness to something that is stigmatised. Women that suffer antenatal difficulties do not speak about it because of shame. And if I could have helped one mother, one woman who lost a baby, feel ‘I’m not alone’ and have a degree of hope, and this show did that.”
She said the reality series gave her the chance to share and that the outpouring of love and gratitude from viewers is unexplainable.
The ladies were asked if they would do Season 2 of the show. While some were sure, others couldn’t give an answer for personal reasons. Well, we guess only time will tell.
